A.        Personnel

 

                        1.  Voice Vote

 

                  The administration recommends the Board approve the following:

 

                        a.   19-429 - Employee 3615, an unpaid FMLA leave of absence beginning July 19, 2019, through October 17, 2019, with insurance, as per Federal Government regulations, and an unpaid leave of absence beginning October 18, 2019, through on or about December 13, 2019, with insurance.

 

                        b.   19-434 – Revised Master District Volunteer List for the 2019-20 school year.

 

                        c.   19-435 – Additions and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2019-2020 school year.

 

 

                        2.  Roll Call Vote

 

                        The administration recommends the Board approve the following:

 

                        a.   19-424 – Jeffrey Erschen, Study Hall Instructional Assistant at the High School, effective retroactive to September 3, 2019.  His salary will be $15.52 per hour, with benefits, in accordance with the ESPA Agreement.

 

                        b.   19-426 – Extra-Curricular & Supplemental Positions for the 2019-2020 school year.

 

                        c.   19-427 – Traffic Duty monitors and hourly rates, effective retroactive to August 26, 2019, through the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

 

                        d.   19-428 – Individuals to oversee intramural programs and the weight room for the 2019-2020 school year, effective August 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020.

 

                        e.   19-430 - Shea Killeen, Tuesday through Saturday Custodian at Moore Elementary School, effective September 24, 2019, pending receipt of proper documentation.  His base rate of pay will be $20.43 per hour, with benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and Teamsters Local 773.

 

                        f.    19-438 – Mentor/Inductee List for the 2019-2020 School Year including the mentors and stipend payment for the 2019-2020 school year.

 

B.        Finances

 

                        The administration recommends the Board approve the following:

 

                        1.   19-431 - Letter of Agreement between the Northampton Area School District and Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 for the purpose of providing remedial instruction in reading and math to non-proficient students in qualifying non-public schools at a cost of:  $27,554.00 for instruction,  $278.00 for parent involvement programming, and Colonial IU20 administrative service fee at three (3%) percent of the total.  The costs for the Non-Public School services for instruction & parent involvement are covered through the 2019-2020 Title I grant.

 

                        2.   19-437 – Bills for Payment.

 

 

            C.        Miscellaneous

 

                        The administration recommends the Board approve the following:

 

                        1.   19-402R - Authorize the School Board Secretary to cast the Northampton Area School District’s Board of School Directors vote for the following PSBA Officers in accordance with the PSBA voting requirement:

                        2.   19-422 - Addenda to the Elementary School Handbooks for the 2019-2020 school year, as well as the updated Northampton Area School District Student Code of Conduct for inclusion in all handbooks.

 

                        3.   19-433 - Mandatory attendance of School Policer Officer, Mr. Michael Renner, at the 2019 Basic School Resource Officer Training Course in Mechanicsburg, PA, from September 29, 2019, through October 4, 2019, at a cost of approximately $1,184.73, which is included in the approved 2019/2020 Northampton Area School District Security Budget.

 

                        4.   19-436 - Accept with appreciation, a donation of school supplies from Zion's Stone United Church of Christ, 51 Church Road, Northampton, PA, valued at approximately $500 for students with identified needs within the Northampton Area School District.
