Regular Board Meeting of July 7, 2003

The Board approved the following:

  ÷   Professional transfers effective with the start of the 2003-2004 school year.

÷      Resignation of Barbara Connolly, half-time elementary guidance counselor at Franklin & Washington Elementary Schools, effective June 30, 2003.

÷      Resignation of Stella Eberhardt, cafeteria monitor at Washington Elementary, effective June 7, 2003.  Her last day of work was June 6, 2003.

÷      Resignation of Julianne Palme` as musical director, fall play advisor and set design advisor at the Senior High School, effective immediately.

÷      Volunteer coaches for the 2003-04 school year.

÷      Hiring of a Secretary to the Assistant Superintendent as soon as possible following the necessary posting, advertising and interviewing, with the retroactive action occurring at the August Board meeting.

÷      Sterling Ritter as a LTS German teacher at the Senior High School effective for the 2003-04 school year.  His salary will be $37,700.00, with benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 2 Year 2 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Kathy D. Pearson, PE reading teacher at Moore Elementary, effective for the 2003-04 school year, pending receipt of updated clearances.  Her annual salary will be $52,700.00, with benefits and is based on a MA Degree and Step 11 and Year 16 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Meghan N. Bleiler as a LTS Social Studies Teacher at the Middle School, effective for the first semester of the 2003-04 school year.  Her salary will be $ 37,700, prorated with benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 2 Year 2 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Brandi Christine as a LTS kindergarten teacher at George Wolf elementary, effective for September through November 2003.  Compensation will be at the Per-Diem rate of $200.53, no benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 2 Year 2 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Lisa M. Hohenshilt as a LTS Social Studies Teacher at the Middle School, effective for September through December 2003.  Compensation will be at the Per-Diem rate of $199.47, no benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 1 Year 1 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Additions/deletion to the Compensation Listing for the Summer Special Education Program:

        ÷ Additions: Kimberly Kebort  - BA - $30.33/hour - no benefits, Amy Ralph, Substitute - BA+15 - $30.33/hour - no benefits; Deletion: Lance Albus.

÷      Diane Rohn as Gemini Team Leader at the Middle School, effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Compensation will be $1,134.00, no additional benefits in accordance with the Supplemental Reimbursement for Extra Services of the collective bargaining agreement.

÷      Kelly Sanchez, Explorer Team Leader, effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Compensation will be $1,134.00, no additional benefits in accordance with the Supplemental Reimbursement for Extra Services of the collective bargaining agreement.

÷      Salary adjustment for Linda H. Deurer, Half-Time (TPE) Family/Consumer Science Teacher at the Senior High School, effective March 13, 2003, for the 2003-04 school year.   Her salary will be $37,700, prorated, with benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 2 - Year 2 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Doreen Ifkovits as a LTS Grade 4 Teacher at George Wolf Elementary, effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Her salary will be $37,700.00, with benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 2 Year 2 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Carol Marano as a LTS Grade 3 teacher at Lehigh Elementary, effective for the first semester of the 2003-04 school year.  Her salary will be $37,500, prorated with benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 1 Year 1 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Kristin Pietruszewski as a LTS Grade 3 teacher at Lehigh Elementary, effective for September through November 2003.  Compensation will be at the Per-Diem rate of $199.47, no benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 1 Year 1 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Attendance of Diane Neiper and Thomas Neiper, along with six FBLA student members (4 females and 2 males), at the Penn State FBLA Leadership Conference October 18-20, 2003 with a cost to the district not to exceed $1,228.36.

÷      Camille Bieber as a LTS Strings and Vocal Teacher at the Middle School and Wolf Elementary School, effective for the first semester of the 2003-04 school year.  Her salary will be $37,700, prorated with benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 2 Year 2 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Beth Peters as the Musical Director and Fall Play Advisor at the Senior High School, effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Compensation will be as follows with no additional benefits and is in accordance with the Supplemental Reimbursement for Extra Services Extracurricular and Clubs of the current collective bargaining agreement: Director Musical - $1.991.00; Fall Play Advisor - $1,991.00.

÷      Patricia Gaetaniello as a Stockroom Monitor at the Senior High School, effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Compensation will be $1,112.00, with no additional benefits and is in accordance with the Supplemental Reimbursement for Extra Services Extracurricular and Clubs of the current collective bargaining agreement.

÷      Voluntary transfer of Nina Jandrisovits to Special Education Instructional Assistant at the Senior High School, effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Compensation will be the maximum step of the Instructional Assistant salary schedule, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits.

÷      Vicky Hunsberger as a Special Education Instructional Assistant at Moore Elementary School effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Compensation will be Step 1 of the Instructional Assistant schedule, with benefits, and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

÷      Attendance of Andrew Lukievics, NovaNET Facilitator, at the Pearson Education Technologies Annual Users Conference November 5-7, 2003 in Lake Buena Vista, FL at an estimated cost to the District of $1,125.00.

÷      Attendance of Roger Firestone at the Apple Video Journalism Conference at Haverford Township School District in Havertown, PA July 14 - 16, 2003 with a total cost to the district not to exceed $1,177.00.

÷      Donald M. Nush as a Middle Shift Custodian at the Middle School, effective July 8, 2003.  Compensation will be $12.65/hour with benefits and is in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.

÷      Trisha L. Remaley as a TPE ESL elementary teacher, effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Her annual salary will be $37,500.00, with benefits and is based on a BA Degree and Step 1 - Year 1 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Susan Baird as a PE ESL teacher at the Middle School and the Senior High School, effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Her annual salary will be $39,300.00, with benefits and is based on a BA+15 Degree and Step 5 - Year 6.5 of the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Attendance of Lydia Hanner at the Reading Apprenticeship training in Baltimore, MD July 20-25, 2003 and three-day mid-year follow-up training February 26-29, 2004 at a cost to the district not to exceed $5,000.00 for both sessions.

÷      Voluntary transfer of Pamela Hoffner to full-time gifted teacher at the Senior High School effective for the 2003-04 school year.  Her salary will be in accordance with the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Voluntary transfer of Michael Keglovits to full-time gifted teacher at the Senior High School effective for the 2003-04 school year.  His salary will be in accordance with the current Salary Schedule.

÷      Head and Assistant Coaches, with designated salaries, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

÷      Eight Assistant Football Coaches at a compensation of the current district supplemental reimbursement.

÷      Attendance of Stacy Gober at the annual ASBO Conference in Charlotte NC October 30 - November 5, 2003 at an approximate cost of $2,085.00.

÷      New textbooks requested by teachers & department coordinators.  Funding for these textbooks is included in the 2003-04 district textbook budget administered by the Curriculum Office.

÷      Proposal of the U.S. Dept of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service to proceed with the sod waterway project at the Route 329 property at a cost of $1,355.

÷      Authorization for King Spry to seek declaratory judgment regarding Foreman Architects and Engineers, Inc.

÷      Bills for Payment.

÷      Treasurerĺs Report.

÷      2002/2003 Budget Transfers.

÷      Addendum to the standard contract for Aramark to provide food service management for the 2003-04 school year.

÷      Authorization for administration to pay the bills necessary prior to August 18, 2003 with ratification at the August meeting.

÷      Real Estate Tax Refund: J6-11-10-5, Jones, Christopher & Patricia - 2002 - $520.23 - Property damaged by fire and assessment reduced.

÷      Awarding of the Fall Sports bids for the 2003/ 04 school year at a total price of  $9,308.10.

÷      Change in location of August Board Workshop and Regular Board Meeting to Lehigh Elementary School and change in location of the October Board Workshop and Regular Board Meeting to Moore Elementary School.

÷      Addition of a Special Board Meeting on July 23 for general purposes to be held in the Senior High School cafeteria.
