Kurt Paccio presented an overview of online board policies. Mrs. Skrapits presented the Facilities Committee report. Mr. Politi presented the NCC report. Mr. Gogel presented the BAVTS report.
The Board approved the following:
Resignation of Debra L.
Reilly, District String Specialist, Orchestra Director of Wolf Elementary,
Middle School Full and String Orchestras, and the Senior High String Chamber
and Full Orchestras, effective September 29, 2005, or sooner if a
replacement teacher is hired and able to begin.
Official job descriptions for
the following support positions: Accounting Assistant, Real Estate Tax
Clerk, Tax Office Clerk, Secretary to the Business Administrator, Benefits
Specialist, Personnel Office Secretary, and Executive Assistant to the
childbearing/childrearing leave of absence for Tara Mrazik, DECA teacher at
the High School, beginning December 23, 2005 through the end of the
2005-2006 school year.
2005-06 Substitute Lists, effective August 16, 2005.
Resignation of Angela Guesto,
elementary teacher, effective August 3, 2005.
List of athletic volunteers for the 2005-06 school year.
One (1) dock day for Michael Moser, Custodian at the Middle School.
Half-year sabbatical for Dennis
Douvanis, Social Studies teacher at the High School, for the purpose of
academic study during the second semester of the 2005-06 school year. Mr. Douvanis anticipates his return to the classroom for the
beginning of the 2006-07 school year.
Resignation of Chad Smith,
Special Education teacher, effective August 10, 2005.
One (1) day of unpaid leave for Lori Schellhamer, Special Education Teacher at Lehigh Elementary School.
Resignation of Denise Rader, Community Relations Coordinator, effective September 10, 2005.
Authorization for Administration to fill vacant teaching positions prior to official Board action. Board approval will be taken at the next scheduled Board meeting.
Resignation of Wendy L. Heller, Technology Teacher at George Wolf Elementary School, effective October 11, 2005 or sooner if a replacement teacher is hired and able to begin.
Jessica Persa, LTS Elementary teacher, effective August 31, 2005. Her salary will be $40,000.00, with benefits, based on a Bachelorís degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.

Mertz as a TPE Music Strings teacher, effective August 31, 2005, pending
receipt of updated clearances. His
salary will be $ 40,000, with benefits, based on a Bachelorís degree and
Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.
Sharon Strohler as a PE Itinerant School Nurse, effective August 31, 2005. Her salary will be $42,200, with benefits, based on a Bachelorís+15 degree and Step 6, Year 6 of the current salary schedule.
Susan Kistler as a TPE elementary teacher effective, August 31, 2005. Her salary will be $40,000.00, with benefits, based on Step 1, Year 1 of the Bachelorís column in the current salary schedule.
Attendance of Beverly Yankowy, Supervisor, EIT Office, at the annual PA EIT Collectors Conference in Gettysburg, PA, September 25-28, 2005 at an approximate cost of $686.00.
List staff and Extra Help Reimbursement Rates for Athletic Events for the 2005-06 school year.
Adrea Rushatz as a LTS Special Education teacher, effective August 31, 2005. Her salary will be $40,000.00 with benefits, based on a Bachelorís degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.
Attendance of Karol DíHuyvetters, Director of Special Education, and Beth Wolfel and Cyndi Taylor, Special Education teachers, at the Annual Pennsylvania Council for Exceptional Children Convention November 3-4, 2005 in Grantville, PA at a total approximate of $1,057.37.
Attendance of Dr. Linda J. Firestone at the PASA New Superintendentís Academy September 22-23, 2005 in Harrisburg, PA at an approximate cost of $350.35.
Sally Kozma as a LTS Physical Science and Chemistry teacher for the first semester of the 2005-2006 school year, effective August 31, 2005, pending receipt of an updated Act 34 clearance. Her salary will be $45,500.00, prorated, with benefits, based on a Doctorate degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.
Authorization for Albarrel Electric to perform TEGG testing at Wolf and Lehigh Elementary Schools at a total cost of $5,955.00.
Authorization for the administration to submit PDE-3074 - Self-Certification Application for Non Reimbursable Construction Projects for the replacement of the Tennis Courts at the Wolf field.
Awarding of the base bid at $325,000 for the Installation of Four (4) Tennis Courts and Alternate GC1 at $3,000 for the installation of electrical conduit to Grace Industries at a total cost of $328,000.
Laidlaw school bus drivers for the 2005-2006 school year.
One-year agreement with Integra Business Systems for maintenance and support of two Blue Coat security appliances at a total cost of $1,552.32.
Bills for Payment.
Weidenhammer Systems to provide
professional services, consultation, and implementation of a Windows System
Update Server to automate computer software updates with estimated costs of
2005-06 a la Carte prices for
the Cafeteria Program.
Upon the advice of legal counsel, agreement for a special education student for the 2005-06 school year at a cost not to exceed $33,935.00.
Appointment of David Gogel and Geraldine Skrapits as the Board representatives to serve as the Northampton Area School District voting delegates to the PSBA conference in Hershey, October 2005.
Adoption of the Resolution for the Northampton Area Public Library Petition for Referendum to the Northampton County Board of Elections for placement on the November 8, 2005 Municipal Election Ballot as required by Section 4402 of the Pennsylvania Library Code.
