Brennan presented the CIU20
2007-08 Budget Proposal. William
Gorman, Gorman & Associates, presented the 2005-06 Audit Report.
William Conner presented certificates to each building principal in
recognition of Accreditation. Mr.
Gogel presented the BAVTS report. Mrs.
Erdo presented the CIU20 and Legislative reports. Mrs. Rundle presented the After Prom Party Committee report.
Lauren Verret presented Student Council activities.
Dr. Firestone announced January is School Board Director Recognition
Month and presented each Board member with a certificate of appreciation.
Aramark provided cookies and coffee in honor of the event.
The Board approved the following:
descriptions for the following support positions: Technology Office
Secretary and Instructional Assistant - Health Room.
Resignation of Jeremy Lesser from the position of Half-Time LTS Elementary Physical Education Teacher, effective January 3, 2007. His last day of work will be December 22, 2006.
Resignation of Bill Gillespie
as the Assistant Track Coach at the High School, effective December 20,
Additions to the District
Volunteer Master List for the 2006-07 school year: Jennifer Miller - Lehigh,
Audrey Ernst- Lehigh, and Jessica Onkotz - Athletic.

Resignation of Joseph Janotka,
Cafeteria Monitor, effective January 3, 2007.
Attendance of Kurt Paccio,
Director of Technology, at the annual National Education Computing
Conference in Atlanta, GA June 23-27, 2007, at an approximate cost of
Barbara Bleacher, PE special
education teacher at the Middle School, as the mentor for Hillary Hartzell
for the remainder of the 2006-07 school year at a stipend of $1,093.00,
prorated, effective January 9, 2007.
Coniglio as a LTS Health/Physical Education Teacher, effective January 19,
2007, through the end of the 2006-07 school year, pending receipt of PA
certification. Salary will be $43,900, pro-rated with benefits, based on a
MA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.
Lantzer, High School Band Director, to accompany High School student
Nicholas Mitchell to the District Band Festival at Exeter Township High
School in Reading, PA, February 8-10, 2007, at an anticipated cost to the
district of $430.00.
Vilkauskas as Secretary to the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel,
effective January 22, 2007, pending receipt of acceptable clearances.
Salary will be $30,000.00, pro-rated with benefits, based on the
Confidential Employees Agreement dated July 1, 2004 - June 30, 2007.
Danner, maintenance employee, to receive a bump step to the 100% rate as per
the prerogative granted to administration as stated in the collective
bargaining agreement. This
increase would be effective February 28, 2007.
in the CIU20 Consortium for the purchase of life insurance through
Harleysville Life Insurance Company for the period January 1, 2007 -
December 31, 2009, at a rate of $0.115 per $1,000 of coverage for basic life
and $0.02 per $1,000 of coverage for basic accidental death and
Ross, PE Librarian at George Wolf Elementary School, as the mentor for
Sharon Martin for the remainder of the 2006-07 school year at a stipend of
$1,093.00, prorated, effective January 3, 2007.
Pasquariello, PE Business Education teacher at the High School, as the
mentor for Brad Mushrush for the remainder of the 2006-07 school year at a
stipend of $1,093.00, prorated, effective December 11, 2006.
of Linda Firestone at the annual CIU20 Superintendent Retreat on January
10-11, 2007, at the Hershey Hotel at an approximate cost of $328.00.
Dufour as a LTS Half-Time Elementary Physical Education Teacher in the
Borough Elementary Schools, effective January 9, 2007, through the end of
the 2006-07 school year, pending receipt of PA certification.
His salary will be $40,900.00, pro-rated with benefits, based on a BA
degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.
Carl P. Beard, from the law firm of Andrews & Beard, to represent Northampton Area School District as negotiator/chief spokesperson in contract negotiations with the Northampton Area School District Custodians, Teamsters Local Union 773. The professional fee for services is $130.00 per hour.
Bills for Payment.
Special education services contract with IU20 for the 2006-07 school year in the amount of $1,301,429.45.
Service contract with IU20 to provide Title I services for non public Northampton Area School District students attending Our Lady of Hungary School and Sacred Heart School for the 2006-07 school year at a cost not to exceed $13,500.00. The cost of this program is covered by the Districtís Title I Grant.
contract with IU20 to provide various services for the Northampton Area
School District in conjunction with the school improvement plans developed
as required by NCLB at a cost not to exceed $19,000.00 for the 2006-07
school year. This will be paid
from the PDE School Improvement Grant.
Authorization for the administration to advertise and make available for public inspection the 2007-08 General Fund Proposed Preliminary Budget.
Resignation of Richard Zuercher, School Board Director, effective January 7, 2007.
