At the regular
meeting of the Board of Education, Barbara Carrington presented Speech and
Hearing Month. Dr. Kathleen Ott presented the Scholastic Novice Majorette
Champions and the Scholastic World Dance Champions. Both groups performed for
the Board. Mark Thompson, MKSD, presented the architect’s report and Chris
Haller, D’Huy Engineering, presented the engineer’s report. Mr. Gogel presented
the Facilities Committee and BAVTS reports. Mrs. Skrapits presented the
Safe School Task Force report.

- 2007-08 General Fund Budget with revenues
of $75,469,092 and expenditures of $75,469,092. This budget is supported by
an increase of 1.59 mills.
- Treasurer’s Report.
- Three year contract starting July 1,
2007, and ending June 30, 2010, to East Penn Sanitation for Trash Removal/
Recycling services at an annual base cost of $45,314.40, plus additional
pickups. (Per pickup cost: $25.80/ 6cu.yd or $34.40/ 8cu.yd.).
- 2007-08 Supply and Equipment bids for
art, audio visual, cleaning, maintenance, general supplies, general art,
health, industrial arts, physical education, computer and duplicating to the
various vendors at a total cost of $153,672.67.
- 2007-08 Paper and Janitorial Supplies Bid
to the various vendors, as listed on the attached summary report, at a total
cost of $75,452.60.
- Bills for Payment.
- Widenhammer Systems to provide
professional services, consultation, and implementation of a Windows 2003
Active Directory upgrade at an estimated cost of $5,040.00.
- Flamm, Boroff & Bacine, PC, Allentown, to
serve as legal counsel to the District on an as needed basis at a rate of
$150.00 per hour.

NASD Business Office as the tax collector for Bath Boro and Chapman Boro, as
well as Allen Township, Moore Township, and East Allen Township, due to the
decision of the Allen Township, Moore Township, and East Allen Township tax
collectors to relinquish their right to collect 2007-08 NASD taxes.

- Half-year sabbatical for Kim Krempasky,
Social Studies Teacher at the Middle School, for the purpose of professional
development, for the second semester of the 2007-08 school year. Ms.
Krempasky will return to the classroom for the 2008-09 school year.
- Resignation of Christel Ruzicka, Drama
Club Advisor, effective June 13, 2007.
- Additions and deletions to the Substitute
- Appointment of Rose M. Roberts as Board
Treasurer for the term of July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008.
- Attendance of Rose Roberts, Accounting
Supervisor, at the Financial Management for Foodservices Workshop in State
College PA from June 7 - 8, 2007, with an approximate cost of $442.40.
- Frank Kloiber as a LTS Special Education
Teacher at the High School, effective retroactive to March 19, 2007, through
June 8, 2007. His salary will be $217.55, per diem without benefits, based on
a BA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.
- Stephanie Wuchter as a LTS Custodian,
effective May 22, 2007, for a period of six (6) months. Salary will be $13.70
per hour, in accordance with the current Salary Schedule of the collective
bargaining agreement, with benefits.
- Abbey Deshler as an Assistant Marching
Band Color Guard Instructor, effective for the 2007-2008 school year.
Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of acceptable Act 114 FBI
fingerprint report. Compensation will be $1,515.00, no benefits and in
accordance with the 2005-2008 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Jill Barron as Head Coach - Boys and
Girls Cross Country, with one year of experience at a compensation of 85% of
the current district supplemental reimbursement totaling $3,618.00, effective
for the 2007-2008 school year.
- Three (3) year contract renewal for Paul
Marcinkowski as the district’s Athletic Trainer. The new contract is
effective July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2010.
- Attendance of Paul Marcinkowski, Athletic
Trainer, at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Meeting and Clinical
Symposia in Anaheim, CA, June 26-30, 2007, at a total cost of $1,243.00.
- List of teachers to provide ESY, Chapter
15/Section 504, and Speech and Language services during the summer of 2007, in
order to complete delivery of services for the 2006-2007 school year.
- Voluntary transfer of Dennis Miletics
from Floating Custodian to Middle Shift Custodian at the Middle School,
effective May 22, 2007. Salary will be $15.41 per hour, 90% of the current
hourly rate, in accordance with the current Salary Schedule of the collective
bargaining agreement, with benefits.
- David Faust as Head Coach - Girls
Volleyball, with 6 years of experience at a compensation of 100% of the
current district supplemental reimbursement totaling $4,256.00, effective for
the 2007-2008 school year. Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of
acceptable Act 114 FBI clearance.
- Bethany Allen, TPE Physical Education
Teacher at Moore Elementary School, effective August 27, 2007. Her salary
will be $41,703.00, with benefits, based on a BA degree and Step 2, Year 2 of
the current salary schedule.
- Attendance of Stacy Gober at the annual
PASBO Leadership Conference - Steel Eagle Institute at Seven Springs,
Champion, PA, on July 26-27, 2007, at no cost to the District.
- Adoption of Policy 221 - Student Dress
and Grooming, Policy 228 - Student Government, Policy 230 - Public
Performances by Students, Policy 231 - Social Events and Class Trips, Policy
232 - Participation in School Affairs, and Policy 233 - Suspension and
Expulsion. The effective date for Policy 221 is August 29, 2007, with the
remaining five polices to be effective May 22, 2007.
- Kindergarten report card, effective for
the 2007-2008 school year.
- Acceptance of the approval of PlanCon
Part I: Interim Reporting #1 - for the HS Renovation/Additions Project No.
- Donation of $200 from Dr. Alex Feig, DDS
for the Northampton Area School District Dental program.
- Formation of the Northampton Fellowship
of Christian Athletes Club at the High School with Jaclyn Hayward as the
volunteer advisor, at no cost to the district.
