At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, Michael Schneider reviewed the athletic event positions and rates.

 

The Board approved the following:

 

      Voluntary transfer of Donald Treichler from middle shift Custodian at George Wolf Elementary School to middle shift Custodian at the Middle School, effective July 22, 2008.  

      Resignation of Cynthia Heffley from the position of Special Education Instructional Assistant at George Wolf Elementary School, effective August 31, 2008.

      Unpaid childrearing leave for Rebecca Wagner, Science Teacher at the High School, for the period of March 2, 2009, through the remainder of the 2008-09 school year.

      Additions and deletions to the Substitute List.

      Resignation of Kevin Avery from the position of Physical Education Teacher at Lehigh Elementary School, effective August 26, 2008.

      Resignation of Connie Praetorius from the position of Cafeteria Monitor at George Wolf Elementary School, effective July 16, 2008.

      Involuntary transfer of Kayann Unangst to a ten-month secretary position in the Tax Office, effective August 13, 2008.

      Elizabeth Grammes as a TPE Grade 1 Elementary Teacher in the Borough, effective August 27, 2008.  Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of an acceptable Act 114 FBI Fingerprint clearance.  Her salary will be $42,350.00, with benefits, based on a BA +15 degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the 2007-08 salary schedule.  Her salary will be adjusted upon the settlement of the new NAEA collective bargaining agreement.

      Steven Kachmar as a 10-month School Psychologist, effective August 11, 2008. Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of updated and acceptable Act 114 FBI clearance.  His salary will be $55,000.00 annually, with benefits, and in accordance with the Act 93 Agreement.

      Denise Woodhull as a One-to-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at the Middle School, effective August 27, 2008.  Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of an acceptable Act 114 FBI Fingerprint clearance.  Her salary will be $9.36 per hour, 80% of the current hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits.   

      Susan Beal as a One-to-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at the High School, effective August 27, 2008.  Her salary will be $9.36 per hour, 80% of the current hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits.   

      Diane Nicrone as a One-to-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at Lehigh Elementary School, effective August 27, 2008.  Her salary will be $9.95 per hour, 85% of the current hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits.   

      MaryAnn Weaver as a One-to-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at Siegfried Elementary School, effective August 27, 2008.  Her salary will be $11.11 per hour, 95% of the current hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits.  

      Kimberly Mooney as a PE Physical Education Teacher at Lehigh Elementary School, effective August 27, 2008.  Her salary will be $44,197.00, with benefits, based on a BA+15 degree and Step 7, Year 7 of the 2007-08 salary schedule.  Her salary will be adjusted upon the settlement of the new NAEA collective bargaining agreement.

      Anita Mateyak as a TPE Business Education Teacher at the High School, effective August 27, 2008.  Her salary will be $42,350.00, with benefits, based on a BA+15 degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the 2007-08 salary schedule.  Her salary will be adjusted upon the settlement of the new NAEA collective bargaining agreement.

      Marni Fehnel as a Cafeteria Monitor at Lehigh Elementary School, effective August 27, 2008.  Her salary will be $9.36 per hour, 80% of the current hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, without benefits.   

      Jennifer Nixon as a Cafeteria Monitor at George Wolf Elementary School, effective August 27, 2008.  Her salary will be $9.36 per hour, 80% of the current hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, without benefits.   

      Deborah Eberts as a Special Education Instructional Assistant at George Wolf Elementary School, effective August 27, 2008.  Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of an acceptable Act 114 FBI Fingerprint clearance.  Her salary will be $9.36 per hour, 80% of the current hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits.  

      Julie Kennington as a PE Speech & Language Teacher for the District, effective August 27, 2008.  Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of acceptable Acts 34, 151, and 114 clearances.  Her salary will be $51,000, with benefits, based on a MA + 45 degree and Step 9, Year 10 of the 2007-08 salary schedule.  Her salary will be adjusted upon the settlement of the new NAEA collective bargaining agreement.

      Furlough of the following Lunchroom Monitors, effective July 22, 2008: Pat Hall and Susan Beers.

      Revised Curricula: Mathematics 7-12, Social Studies 8-12, Core English 9-12, World Languages, and Digital Photography.

      Revised Agreement for Parent Transportation between the Northampton Area School District and the parents of a student with a disability.

      Tax Exonerations.

      Addendum to the standard contract for Aramark to provide foodservice management for the 2008-2009 school year.

      Authorization for the administration to prepare and bid Foodservice Management Services for the School District.

      EMC Corporation to provide one time professional technical services and consultation at an estimated cost of $2,940.00.

      Contract for Contracted School Bus Transportation to Laidlaw Educational Services (d/b/a First Student, Inc.) for a five (5) year period starting July 2008 through June 2013.

      Contract with Harris ~ Connect for the purpose of developing an alumni database and alumni directory for NASD graduates, at no cost to the district.
