At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, Henry Guarriello, D’Huy Engineering, presented an update on the mold remediation project at the Middle School.  Ms. Erdo presented the COG report.  Mr. Gogel presented the BAVTS report.  Mr. Politi presented the NCC report.

 

The Board approved the following:

 

·      Resignation of Wanda Stackhouse from the position of Cafeteria Monitor at Moore Elementary School, effective July 20, 2009.

·      Resignation of Todd Beidleman from the position of One-to-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at Lehigh Elementary School, effective August 3, 2009.

·      Revised listing of Athletic Volunteer Coaches for the 2009-2010 school year.

·      Voluntary transfer of Susan Neal from Special Education Teacher at Lehigh Elementary School to Elementary Special Education Lead Teacher, effective August 27, 2009.

·      Voluntary transfer of Barbara Bleacher from Special Education Teacher at the Middle School to Special Education Lead Teacher to be split between the Middle School and an elementary school, effective August 27, 2009.

·      Revised listing of head coaches and assistant coaches with their designated stipends, in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement, for the 2009-2010 school year, effective July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.

·      Erica Berkheimer, LTS Kindergarten Teacher at Franklin Elementary School, effective August 27, 2009, to on or about October 30, 2009.  Her salary will be $248.59, per diem without benefits, based on a MA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.   

·      Loretta Conway, LTS Speech & Language Teacher at George Wolf Elementary School, effective August 27, 2009, for the 2009-2010 school year, pending emergency permit approval from PDE.  Her salary will be $46,735.00, with benefits, based on a MA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule. 

·      Ashley Greb, Permanent One-on-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at Siegfried Elementary School, effective August 27, 2009.  Her hourly rate will be $10.95, 90% of the 2009-2010 hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits.

·      Pamela Romanishan, Temporary One-on-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at Lehigh Elementary School, effective August 27, 2009, for the 2009-10 school year.  Her hourly rate will be $10.34, 85% of the 2009-2010 hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits.   

·      Anne Lutz, Cafeteria Monitor at the Middle School, effective August 31, 2009.  Her hourly rate will be $9.74, 80% of the 2009-2010 hourly rate, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, no benefits.   

·      Revised listing of Student Summer Help, along with their compensation rate of $7.15 per hour from June 15, 2009, through July 23, 2009, and $7.25 per hour from July 24, 2009 through August 21, 2009.  The listing denotes those students who are pending receipt of acceptable clearances.

·      List of mentors and payments for the 2009-2010 school year.

·      James Sansone, TPE Instrumental Music Teacher at the High School, effective August 27, 2009, pending receipt of acceptable Act 151.    His salary will be $43,302.00, with benefits, based on a BA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the 2009-2010 salary schedule. 

·      Quinn Pagano, LTS Special Education Teacher at the High School, effective on or about September 15, 2009, to on or about November 17, 2009, pending receipt of acceptable Act 151.  Her salary will be $234.59, per diem without benefits, based on a BA+15 degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule. 

·      Kathleen Bendekovits, TPE Grade 4 Teacher at Siegfried Elementary School, effective August 27, 2009.  Her salary will be $43,642.00, with benefits, based on a BA degree and Step 2, Year 2 of the 2009-2010 salary schedule.

·      Jeanette Male, Temporary Full-Time Remedial Math Instructor in the High School, effective August 27, 2009, for the 2009-2010 school year.  Her salary will be $43,302.00, with benefits, based on a Bachelor’s degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.  Salary and benefit costs to be paid by the EAP Grant.

·      Kyle Hutton to as Athletic Trainer at a starting salary of $40,000.00, prorated with benefits, effective August 11, 2009, and expiring June 30, 2010.  Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of acceptable Acts 34, 151, and 114 clearances.

·      Proposal from D’Huy Engineering, Inc. for services to manage the mold remediation and restoration at the Middle School at a cost of $43,190.00 and an additional allocation of $10,000.00 due to the overtime project.

·      Professional fees for 1Source Safety and Health, Inc. for the mold remediation project at the Middle School:  mold consultation services and specification development phase at a cost not to exceed $23,000.00 and the remediation phase at an estimated cost of $90,500.00.

·      A one (1) year fire alarm monitoring agreement for the High School with Communication System Inc. at an annual cost of $384.00 dollars.

·      A three (3) year fire alarm monitoring agreement with Simplex/Grinnell for the fire systems at Siegfried, George Wolf, Lehigh and Moore Elementary Schools at an annual cost of $400.00 per building.

·      A three (3) year service agreement to Simplex for the fire alarm, intercom, master clock and rescue assistance systems for the buildings mentioned above at the following costs:

·      Payment to Sargent Enterprises, Inc. in the amount of $225,256.32 for approximately 36.5% completion of the Middle School mold remediation project.

·      Bills for Payment.

·      Annual service agreement with AssetWorks, Inc. for database application service, support and maintenance at a cost of $2,600.

·      Abatement of the 2006, 2007, and 2008 Delinquent Real Estate Taxes on Tax Parcel #J4 16 6-B-10T for a settlement of $1,500.00 from Whispering Hollow Mobile Home Park.
