At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following: 

·         Extension of unpaid childrearing leave for Raechel Gross for the first semester of the 2010-2011 school year.

·         Listing of Athletic Event Staff for the 2010-2011 school year, effective July 1, 2010, through June 30, 2011.

·         Listing of Reimbursement Rates for Athletic Events for the 2010-11 school year, effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.

·         List of professional staff transfers effective with the 2010-2011 school year.

·         Resignation of Jennifer Collina from the position of Special Education Instructional Assistant at George Wolf Elementary, effective August 26, 2010.

·         Voluntary transfer of Suzanne Rockovits from IST teacher at Siegfried Elementary to Reading Specialist at Lehigh Elementary, effective August 27, 2010, contingent upon PDE approval of her Reading Specialist certification.

·         Community Education Program Option: 

                Option 1:

                Continue the Community Education Program and provide a stipend of $3,746.11 for Patricia Gaetaniello to continue as the program coordinator for the 2010-2011

                school  year.

     ·         The following substitute rates for the 2010-2011 school year, effective July 1, 2010:

                Instructors - $90.00 for the first 20 days and $100.00 thereafter

                Secretaries - $9.98/hour

                Instructional Assistants - $7.31/hour

                Lunchroom and Hall Monitors - $7.31/hour

                Substitute Custodians - $11.11/hour

                Security Guards - $12.90/hour

·         District Coordinators and their compensation(s), as per the listing for the 2010-2011 school year, effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.

·          Ms. Jacklyn Welsh to serve as Long Term Substitute (LTS) K-12 District Mathematics Supervisor from August 16, 2010, until June 10, 2011, or three (3) days after the last student day. She will earn her full teacher salary, and teacher benefits, and a stipend of $5,000.

·         Listings for Extra-Curricular & Supplemental Positions for the 2010-2011 school year, effective July 1, 2010, through June 30, 2011.

·         Attendance of Joseph Kovalchik at the Lehigh University School Study Council 2010 Study Tour to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA from September 28 – October 1, 2010, at an approximate cost of $750.00.

·          Melissa Monteith, K-12 Language Arts Supervisor, effective August 10, 2010.  Her salary will be $70,000, pro-rated with benefits, and in accordance with the Act 93 Agreement.  Ms. Monteith’s salary will be adjusted to the Act 93 Salary Range of $75,000 to $85,000 upon completion of a Pennsylvania Language Arts Supervisory Certificate, Pennsylvania Supervisory Certificate in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Reading, or a Pennsylvania Principal Certificate K-12.  Ms. Monteith’s employment is contingent upon the certification requirements set forth in the Memorandum of Agreement dated August 9, 2010.

·          James Sansone and approximately 72 students to attend/participate in a performance at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, FL from April 17 through April 21, 2011.  Total cost to district will be $300.00.

·         Beth Olejak, LTS Special Education Teacher at the High School, effective on or about September 7, 2010, through on or about November 30, 2010.  Her salary will be $253.49 per diem, without benefits, based on a MA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule. 

·         Courtney Schnyderite, TPE German Teacher at the High School, effective August 27, 2010, pending receipt of PA re-activation of her certificate.   Her salary will be $49,948.00, with benefits, based on a MA degree and Step 6, Year 6 of the 2010-2011 salary schedule.

·          Sarah Foster, TPE Kindergarten Teacher at Franklin Elementary, effective August 27, 2010, pending receipt of acceptable Acts 34 and 151 clearances.  Her salary will be $44,156.00, with benefits, based on a BA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the 2010-2011 salary schedule.

·         Rebecca Rasmussen, Library Instructional Assistant at the Middle School, effective August 30, 2010, pending receipt of acceptable Acts 34 and 151 clearances. Her rate of pay will be $10.12 per hour, with benefits, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

·          Gina Limpar, One-on-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at the Middle School, effective August 30, 2010Her rate of pay will be $10.12 per hour, with benefits, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

·         Kathryn Schaffer, Hall Monitor at the High School, effective August 30, 2010, pending receipt of acceptable Act 114 clearance.  Her rate of pay will be $10.12 per hour, with limited benefits, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

·          James Farber, Hall Monitor at the High School, effective August 30, 2010His rate of pay will be $10.12 per hour, with limited benefits, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

·         Quinn Pagano, TPE Special Education Teacher at Franklin Elementary, effective August 27, 2010.  Her salary will be 44,956.00, with benefits, based on a BA +15 degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the 2010-2011 salary schedule.

·         Jacqueline Schucker, PE Kindergarten Teacher at Moore Elementary, effective August 27, 2010, pending receipt of PA re-activation of her certificate. Her salary will be $49,948.00, with benefits, based on a MA degree and Step 6, Year 6 of the 2010-2011 salary schedule.

·         Linda Reed, Cafeteria Monitor at Siegfried Elementary, effective August 30, 2010Her rate of pay will be $10.12 per hour, no benefits, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

·          Susan Gallagher, LTS Special Education Teacher at Siegfried Elementary, effective August 27, 2010, to on or about December 23, 2010.  Her per diem rate will be $253.49, without benefits, based on a Masters degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.

·         Ronia Allan, LTS Special Education Teacher at Siegfried Elementary, effective August 27, 2010, for the 2010-2011 school year.  Her salary will be $44,156.00, with benefits, based on a BA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule. 

·         Kelly Muschlitz, LTS Grade 5 Elementary Teacher at Moore Elementary, effective August 27, 2010, through the end of the first semester of the 2010-2011   school year.  Her salary will be $44,156.00, prorated with benefits, based on a BA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule. 

·         Robert Edwards II, LTS Half-Time Special Education Teacher at Lehigh Elementary, effective August 27, 2010, for the 2010-2011 school year.  His salary will be $23,829.00, (Master’s, Step 1, Year 1, pro-rated) with benefits, based on a MA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the 2010-2011 salary schedule. 

·         List of mentors and payments for the 2010-2011 school year.

·          Jennifer Collina, LTS Grade 5 Elementary Teacher at Lehigh Elementary, effective August 27, 2010, to on or about October 29, 2010.  Her salary will be $253.49, per diem without benefits, based on a MA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the current salary schedule.

·         Bid for replacement of the water heater and adding a water softener at Moore Elementary to Blanski, Inc. of Reading, PA in the amount of $65,965.

·         Renewal agreement with K12 Systems, Inc. of Allentown, for software licensing, support, and hosting at a cost of $86,384.00 for the 2010-2011 school year.

·         One-year agreement with Dauphin Datacom for maintenance and support of  3COM  networking devices at a total cost of $5,670.70.

·         Law Enforcement Liability Insurance coverage by Scottsdale Insurance Company at a cost of $7,923.04 for the period of September 5, 2010 to September 5, 2011.

·         Bills for Payment

·         Twelve month maintenance agreement with Xerox for a Model WCM201 copier at a cost of $15.00 per month in the Technology Department.
