∑ Credit change order for Sargent Enterprises, Inc., as part of the George Wolf Elementary School renovation project:
GC-M01 Ė ($37,822.40) Ė Final payment application balance to finish, including
retainage, is $37,822.40. The work not completed, and described below, equals this
remaining contract amount:
1. Sargent Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) did not remove the identified asbestos containing fittings in accordance with the technical specifications for asbestos abatement using the specified full containment procedures. Rather, SEI chose to use the glove bag technique. In addition, the bid was to assume there were 300 asbestos containing fittings to be removed under full containment procedures. The actual number of fittings was 75 as jointly counted by SEI and 1 Source Safety and Health, Inc. (1Source). SEI provided a unit cost of $18/fitting for removal of asbestos containing fittings using the glove bag technique. In our opinion, SEI should deduct the cost for the removal of the asbestos under full containment conditions and add 75 fittings multiplied by $18/ fitting or $1,350.
2. Mechanical ductwork and piping not removed as shown on contract documents.
