At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

 

        Mrs. April Krempasky and Mrs. Theresa Wenck to accompany approximately fifty (50) German Club students on the Washington, D.C., field trip on Saturday, April 9, 2011.  There would be no cost to the District.

        Resignation of Lindsey Williamson, Girls Assistant Volleyball Coach, effective January 20, 2011.

        Resignation of Anne Maiatico, Art Teacher at the Borough Elementary Schools for the purpose of retirement, effective June 13, 2011, or the last teacher day of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Resignation of Connie Votta, Elementary Teacher at Moore Elementary for the purpose of retirement, effective June 13, 2011, or the last teacher day of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Resignation of Nancy Biechy, Elementary Teacher at Siegfried Elementary for the purpose of retirement, effective June 13, 2011, or the last teacher day of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Resignation of Louise Fehnel, Elementary Teacher at Lehigh Elementary for the purpose of retirement, effective June 13, 2011, or the last teacher day of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Resignation of Donald Rohn, Driver Education and In-School Suspension Teacher at the High School for the purpose of retirement, effective June 13, 2011, or the last teacher day of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Resignation of Carol Belcher, English Teacher at the Middle School for the purpose of retirement, effective June 13, 2011, or the last teacher day of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Addition of Theresa Bellettiere, Pilates/Yoga instructor, to the Spring Session for the Community Education Program for the 2010-2011 school year.  There will be no additional cost to the District.

        Resignation of Donna Longley, Kindergarten Teacher at Moore Elementary for the purpose of retirement, effective June 13, 2011, or the last teacher day of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Resignation of Darlene Ehrlacher, Special Education Instructional Assistant at the Middle School for the purpose of retirement, effective June 10, 2011, or the last student day of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Additions and deletions to the Substitute List.

        Resignation of Michael Keglovits, Social Studies Teacher at the High School for the purpose of retirement, effective June 15, 2011, or the last teacher day of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Mrs. Tara Mrazek, Ms. Tara Mushko, Mrs. Ann Harrington, and Mr. Rich Silvius to attend the PA DECA State Conference along with fifty-one (51) DECA students on February 23, 24, & 25, 2011, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  Maximum cost to the District will be $10,114.65. 

        Continuation of Kelly Muschlitz, LTS Grade 5 Teacher at Moore Elementary,   effective January 31, 2011, through the end of the 2010-2011 school year.  Her salary will be $44,156.00, pro-rated with benefits, based on a BA degree and Step 1, Year 1 of the 2010-2011 salary schedule. 

        Voluntary transfer of Sharon Mondschein from 10-Month Class C Secretary at the Middle School to 12-Month Class C General Administrative Secretary in District Administration, effective February 17, 2011.  Her rate of pay will continue to be $17.10 per hour - 95% of the position rate, per the collective bargaining agreement.

        Ms. Anita Mateyak, Dr. Ken Cressman, and two FBLA students to attend/compete in the FBLA State Competition and Leadership Conference in Hershey, PA, on April 3, 4, 5, and 6, 2011.  Total cost to the district will be $1,461.00.

        Voluntary transfer of Donald Treichler from Middle Shift Custodian at the Middle School to Day Shift Custodian at Siegfried Elementary and Lead Custodian for the Borough Elementary Schools, effective on or about March 23, 2011.  His rate of pay will be $20.02 per hour, plus $.45 per hour for the Lead Custodian position, as per the collective bargaining agreement.

        Dr. Steven Kachmar to attend the 2011 Implementerís Forum for Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports, May 18 & 19, 2011 in Harrisburg, PA.  There is no cost to the district for Dr. Kachmar to attend this conference.

        Adjustment for Meredith Foster to long-term per diem substitute status, with an annual pro-rated salary of $44,156.00, based on Step 1 of the Bachelorís column of the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits.  Her effective date for salary purposes is retroactive to November 22, 2010, and benefits will begin February 1, 2011, through the end of the 2010-2011 school year.

        Nichole Hamburg and Kelly Miller, Boys & Girls Assistant Swimming Coaches, effective for the 2010-2011 school year.  Ms. Hamburg has 3 years experience at a compensation of 90% of the current district supplemental reimbursement, totaling $952.00, no benefits.  Ms. Miller has 2 years experience at a compensation of 85% of the current district supplemental reimbursement, totaling $899.00, no benefits.

        Temporary One-to-One Instructional Assistant position for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year at Moore Elementary School funded completely with Federal IDEA Stimulus Monies. 

        Temporary One-to-One Instructional Assistant position for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year at Siegfried Elementary School funded completely with Federal IDEA Stimulus Monies.

        Adoption of the following new and/or revised policies, effective February 15, 2011:  314 Ė Physical Examination, 414 - Physical Examination, 504 - Employment of Noncertificated Employees, and 514 - Physical Examination.  Deletion of the following policy, effective February 15, 2011:  504 (4:14) - Selection/Hiring Process for Noncertificated Employees.

        2011-2012 Concurrent Enrollment Agreements between 1) NASD & Northampton Community College, and 2) NASD & DeSales University.

        Authorization for the administration to submit PlanCon Part J for the George Wolf Elementary School Project #3296.

        Authorization for the administration to submit PlanCon Part J for Col. John Siegfried Elementary School Project #3311.

        Award the bid for the Construction of a Salt Shed at the Maintenance Building to Doubletree Structures/CB Structures, Inc., for a total amount of $58,614.00

        A three (3) year service agreement with Intellibot Robotics Inc., to service the robotic floor cleaner at the High School at an annual cost of $2,600.

        Joseph F. Salla, of Dallas, PA, and a licensed water treatment operator, to monitor and treat the domestic well water at Lehigh and Moore Elementary Schools at $600 per month.

        Award District local and long distance telephone service to MCI d/b/a Verizon Business for approximately $19,911.27, annually, beginning July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2016 (5 year agreement).  This cost does not reflect E-Rate Program discounts that may be applicable.

         Adopt the 2011-12 Northampton Community College Budget in the amount of $54,376,986 with the NASD portion of $707,226 required to fund the budget.

        Adopt the 2011-12 Colonial IU 20 General Operating Budget in the amount of $3,002,620 with the NASD portion of $38,645.24 required to fund the budget, which amount represents no increase to the District.

        A three (3) year service agreement to Medtronic Emergency Response Systems, Inc. to provide inspections, reports and replacement batteries as needed for the Districtís sixteen (16) defibrillators at an annual cost of $5,113 for the term of 4/1/2011 through 3/31/2014.
