 At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:


        Additional chaperones to accompany approximately fifty German Club students on the Washington, D.C. field trip on Saturday, April 9, 2011.  There would be no cost to the district.

        Unpaid childrearing leave for Wendy Moreira beginning March 24, 2011, through April 8, 2011, the end of the 3rd marking period.

        Unpaid medical leave for Dale Danner for the period beginning June 1, 2011, through on or about September 7, 2011.

        The following additions to the District Volunteer master listing for the 2010-2011 school year:

        Additions and Deletions to the Substitute List.

        Mrs. Karen Fiorvanti and Ms. Candy Wallace to accompany eighteen drama club students to New York City on April 9 & 10, 2011.  There is no cost to the district.

        Continuation of Kathryn Anchorstar, LTS Grade 3 Elementary Teacher, through April 8, 2011, which is the end of the 3rd marking period.

        Attendance of Mrs. Tara Mrazik, three additional chaperones (Ms. Tara Mushko, Mrs. Theresa Barrall, and Mr. Richard Silvius, and 26 members of the Northampton Area High School DECA to the DECA ICDC (International Career Development Conference) competition in Orlando, FL, on April 29, 30, May 1, 2, 3, and 4, 2011.  Total cost of the trip to the district is $1,280.00.

        Stefanie Roscioli, Temporary One-to-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at Siegfried Elementary, effective March 15, 2011, for the remainder of the    2010-2011 school yearHer rate of pay will be $10.12 per hour, with benefits, completely funded with Federal IDEA Stimulus Monies, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

        Adoption of the following new policies, effective March 15, 2011: 113 - Special Education, 113.1 - Discipline of Students with Disabilities, and 113.3 Ė Screening and Evaluations for Students with Disabilities.

        Award the bid for replacement of the breeching and draft inducers at Moore Elementary to Blanski, Inc. of Reading, PA in the amount of $96,120.

        Agreement with Lehigh University for the rental of Stabler Arena for the 2011 graduation ceremonies at a rate of $7,400.00 plus any actual expenses.

        Bills for Payment.

        Budget Transfers.

        The 2011-12 Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School General Fund Budget in the amount of $10,584,101 with the NASD portion of $2,402,405 required to fund the budget.
