 At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

 

·         Resignation of Keri Kachmar from the position of K-12 Mathematics Supervisor, effective March 28, 2011.

·         Appoint Rose M. Roberts as Board Treasurer for the term of July 1, 2011, through June 30, 2012.

·         Resignation of Nicole Brousseau, Spring Musical Director, Musical Set Design Advisor, and Fall School Play Advisor, effective May 31, 2011.

·         Resignation of Alison Kowalick, National Honor Society Advisor, effective at the end of the 2010-2011 school year.

·         Resignation of Emily Reinsmith, Spring Musical Vocal Director, effective at the end of the 2010-2011 school year.

·         Resignation of Jessica Ritter, Dance Team Advisor, effective at the end of the 2010-2011 school year.

·         Addition to the District Volunteer master listing for the 2010-2011 school year:

·         Additions and deletions to the Substitute List.

·         Meghan Starr, Christina Thrash, Lauren Belowich, Krista Green, Dan Krimmel, Erica Amato, Suzanne Rockovits, Jennifer Borzillo, Jarad Haupt, and Karen Fleming to attend the 2011 Implementer’s Forum for Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports May 18 – 19, 2011, in Harrisburg, PA.  There is no cost to the District.

·         Memorandum of Understanding between the Northampton Area Educators Association (NAEA – Guidance Counselors) and the District effective June 16, 2011, and ending August 26, 2011.

·         Adjustment for Stephen Eberly to long-term per diem substitute status, with the per diem rate of $253.49 based on Step 1 of the Master’s column of the collective bargaining agreement.  His effective date is retroactive to February 11, 2011, to on or about May 13, 2011.

·         Matthew Decembrino, Christina Thrash, Lauren Belowich, Krista Green, Daniel Krimmel, Erica Amato, Susan Neal, Jennifer Borzillo, Jarad Haupt, and Kristen Sevinsky to attend the Annual Safe Schools Conference in Harrisburg, PA, May 11-13, 2011.  The SWPBS grant will cover the costs to attend this conference.  There is no cost to the District.

·         Damien Ciecwisz, Summer School Security Guard, effective June 24, 2011, through August 5, 2011.  The rate of pay will be:  $17.94 per hour from June 24, 2011, through June 30, 2011, and $18.12 per hour from July 1, 2011, through August 5, 2011, no benefits. Deborah Recker, Substitute Summer School Security Guard, effective June 24, 2011, through August 5, 2011.  The rate of pay will be:  $17.44 per hour from June 24, 2011, through June 30, 2011, and $17.62 per hour from July 1, 2011, through August 5, 2011, no benefits.

·         Adoption of the following new / revised policies, effective May 10, 2011:  200 - Enrollment of Students, 202.1 - Education of Children Residing with an Adult Other than Natural and/or Custodial Parent, 203 - Communicable Diseases and Immunization, 217 - Graduation Requirements, 440 – Responsibility for Student Welfare, 512 – Evaluation of Noncertificated Employees, 555 - Essential Employees, and 815.1 – Social Media.  

·         Three (3) year service agreement with Senick Inc., of Bethlehem, PA, for on-call contracting service for emergency excavation and sink-hole repairs, as needed, with rates billable per the Contractor Cost Comparison Sheet.  Effective date: June 1, 2011 – May 31, 2014.

·         Three (3) year service agreement with Solo Pest Control of Walnutport, PA for an annual cost of $4,320.00 with a 0% increase over the three (3) year period.  Effective date: June 1, 2011 – May 31, 2014.

·         Accept, with appreciation, the donation of $200 from Dr. Alex Feig, DDS, for the Northampton Area School District Dental program.

·         Accept the 2011/2012 property tax reduction allocation at $1,465,787.03 to reduce property taxes and set the homestead/farmstead exclusion at the same fixed amount.

·         2010-2011 Budget Transfers.

·         Bills for payment.

·         Expulsion Hearing Waiver for Middle School student number 2010-27.

·         Expulsion Hearing Waiver for Middle School student number 2010-28.

·         Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School student number 2010-25.

·          Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School student number 2010-29.
