At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

 

        Paid FMLA leave of absence for Kerry Haydt for the period July 20, 2011, through July 29, 2011.

        Updated job descriptions for the following positions:  School Police Officer/Director of Security, School Police Officer/Attendance Officer, Security Officer, and Hall Monitor, effective August 9, 2011.

        Resignation of Juliann Maurek, Driverís Education Teacher at the High School for the purpose of retirement, effective at the end of the day December 2, 2011.

        Resignation of Robert Tugend from the position Social Studies Teacher, effective August 8, 2011.

        Damien Ciecwisz, Summer School Security Guard, effective June 24, 2011, through August 12, 2011.  The rate of pay will be:  $17.94 per hour from June 24, 2011, through June 30, 2011, and $18.12 per hour from July 1, 2011, through August 12, 2011, no benefits.  Deborah Recker, Substitute Summer School Security Guard, effective June 24, 2011, through August 12, 2011.  The rate of pay will be:  $17.44 per hour from June 24, 2011, through June 30, 2011, and $17.62 per hour from July 1, 2011, through August 12, 2011, no benefits.

        All current professional teaching staff employees as potential homebound instructors, effective September 1, 2011, through June 30, 2012.  In accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement, the hourly rate of pay for homebound instruction is:

            Bachelorís Degree - $43.72 per hour                      Masterís Degree - $47.99 per hour

        Matthew Rutz, District Security Guard, effective August 26, 2011, pending receipt of all acceptable clearances and drug test results.  The hourly rate of pay will be $17.87, with limited benefits, based on the current Northampton Area Security Association agreement.

        Maria Rossillo, Assistant Principal for the Borough Elementary Schools, effective January 2, 2012.  Her salary will be $70,000.00, pro-rated, with benefits, in accordance with the Act 93 Agreement.

        Revised curricula in:  Fine Arts and Digital Arts, Music, World Languages, Science, Elementary Language Arts, and Elementary Mathematics.

        A one (1) year service agreement with EXERCISE EQUIPMENT REPAIR, LLC of Bath, PA, to service the exercise equipment in the High Schoolís Adaptive Gym.  The service agreement is for an annual fee of $350.00 from the term of August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012.  For special call outs, their hourly fee will be at the rate of $100.00 for the 1st  hour, and $75.00 for each additional hour.

        Renewal agreement with K12 Systems, Inc. of Allentown, for software licensing, support, and hosting at a cost of $81,751.80 for the 2011-2012 school year.
