At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:
∑ Jennifer Gerhart, a paid childbearing leave beginning on or about May 29, 2012, through the end of the 2011-12 school year, and an unpaid FMLA childrearing leave, with benefits, per Federal Government regulations, for the period beginning on August 27, 2012, to November 6, 2012.
∑ Resignation of Patrick Haftl, Temporary One-to-One Instructional Assistant, effective at end of the day March 16, 2012.
∑ Resignation of Linda Kressley, Custodian, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective May 1, 2012.
∑ Resignation of F. Michael Schneider, Athletic Director, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective June 30, 2012.
∑ Resignation of Jeffrey Wirth, Custodial Supervisor, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective June 30, 2012.
∑ Resignation of Edward Ohlson, Head Boys Basketball Coach, effective March 2, 2012.
∑ Resignation of Edward Seidick, Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach, effective March 3, 2012.
∑ Paid childbearing leave of absence for Kristen Sevinsky, beginning on or about May 14, 2012, through the end of the 2011-2012 school year.
∑ Unpaid childrearing leave, with no benefits, for Jaclyn Grejda for the remainder of the 2011-2012 school year.
∑ Rate adjustment for Marlise Shipe to short-term substitute teacher status, with a daily rate of $125.00, effective retroactive to January 3, 2012.
∑ The following list of staff members and their compensation for Intramural programs at the designated building for the 2011-2012 school year.

∑ Ms. Maria Rodriguez, dance team coach, to chaperone twelve (12) students to participate in the Dance Championship Competition to be held in Wildwood, New Jersey, on May 3, 4, 5, and 6, 2012. Along with Ms. Rodriguez, thirteen (13) parents will also be attending the Dance Championship Competition as chaperones. Cost to the District will be approximately $370.00.
∑ Attendance of Mrs. Tara Mrazik, two additional chaperones (Ms. Tara Mushko, and Mrs. Theresa Barrall) and 18 members of the Northampton Area High School DECA to the DECA ICDC (International Career Development Conference) competition in Salt Lake City, UT, on April 27, 28, 29, 30, May 1, and 2, 2012. Total cost of the trip to the District is $1,085.00.
∑ Adoption of the following revised and/or new policies, effective March 13, 2012: 000 - Board Policy/Procedure/Administrative Regulations, 001 - Name and Classification, 002 - Authority and Powers, 003 - Functions, 004 - Membership, 004.1 - Student School Board Representatives, 005 - Organization, 006 - Meetings, 006.1 - Attendance at Meetings Via Electronic Communications, 007 - Distribution, 009 - Political Activities, 011 - Board Governance Standards/Code of Conduct, 123.2 - Interscholastic Athletics - Concussion Policy, 252 - Dating Violence, and 702.2 - Naming Rights for School District Facilities, and approve the renumbering of Policy 217.1 - Course Selection-Course Drop/Add.
∑ Strategic Plan Mission, Belief, and Vision Statements.
∑ 2011-2012 Budget Transfers.
∑ Administration to commit Northampton Area School Districtís participation in the statewide wide area network, PAIUnet, from July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2015, with estimated monthly costs of $3,620 less eRate reimbursements.
∑ Bills for Payment.
∑ Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School student number 2011-12.
∑ Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School student number 2011-13.
