At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

 

·         Full-year sabbatical for Kristen Sevinsky, for the purpose of professional development, for the 2012-2013 school year.

·         Half-year sabbatical for Rebecca Philbin, for the purpose of professional development, for the first semester of the 2012-2013 school year.

·         Deletion to the Substitute Listing for the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Resignation of Susan Baird, ESL Teacher, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective June 6, 2012, or the last teacher day of the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Resignation of Richard Baran, Guidance Counselor, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective June 6, 2012, or the last teacher day of the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Resignation of Barbara Carrington, Speech and Language Pathologist, for the purpose of retirement, effective June 6, 2012, or the last teacher day of the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Brigette Bailey for an FMLA childrearing leave, with no pay, but with benefits, per Federal Government regulations, beginning March 7, 2012.

·         Resignation of Mary Dawn Ditty, Librarian, for the purpose of retirement, effective June 6, 2012, or the last teacher day of the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Resignation of Donna Feldman, Elementary Teacher, for the purpose of retirement, effective June 6, 2012, or the last teacher day of the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Resignation of Thomas Keim, Biology Teacher, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective June 6, 2012, or the last teacher day of the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Resignation of Nancy Wilkin, Chemistry Teacher, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective June 6, 2012, or the last teacher day of the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Paid childbearing leave of absence for Alana Heller, beginning on or about May 29, 2012, through the end of the 2011-12 school year.

·         Extension of a medical leave with benefits for Dale Danner per the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and Teamsters Local Union #773 through May 31, 2012.

·         Half-year sabbatical for Linda Kney, for the purpose of professional development, from January 2, 2013, through May 10, 2013.

·         Intermittent FMLA leave of absence, with no pay but with benefits, for Lisa Wechsler, per Federal Government regulations, beginning March 12, 2012.

·         Revised Job Description for the position of Athletic Director, effective March 26, 2012.

·         Unpaid leave of absence for medical reasons, with benefits, for LeRoy Hummel, beginning March 21, 2012, through April 12, 2012, and an FMLA leave with no pay, but with benefits, per Federal Government regulations, beginning April 13, 2012, through July 9, 2012.

·         Resignation of Kathryn Chartier, English Teacher, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective June 6, 2012, or the last teacher day of the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Rate adjustment for Patrick Sutton to Long Term Substitute teacher status, with a daily rate of $239.18, without benefits, with salary adjustments to be made retroactive to November 11, 2011, through the end of the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Dale Nester, Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach, with 4 years experience at a compensation rate of 75% of the Assistant Coach stipend, for a total compensation of $1,898.00, with no benefits, pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and NAEA effective for the 2011-2012 school year.

·         Five-year agreement with PenTeleData for district network communications services in the amount of $5,536 per month.

·         Treasurer’s Report.

·         Bills for Payment.

·         Tuition rates of $310.00 per two-hour course for resident students and $360.00 per two-hour course for non-resident students for the 2012 summer school program.  Tuition costs for courses less than or greater than two hours will be pro-rated.

·         2012-13 Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School General Fund Budget in the amount of $9,892,650 with the NASD portion of $2,267,440 required to fund the budget.

·         Administration to work with PFM for the issuance of General Obligation Notes, Series of 2012, in the approximate amount of $4,720,000 from the Emmaus/PLGIT variable rate bond pool program for the purpose of funding a portion of the new Middle School Project over 25 years as seen in Option #2 from the financial analysis by Public Financial Management, Inc., as per the enclosed resolution.

·         Administration to work with PFM for the issuance of General Obligation Bonds, Series of 2012, to refund the School District’s General Obligation Bonds – Series of 2008 for a net minimum savings target of 2%, as per the enclosed resolution.

·         The following sixty-month leases with Fraser Advanced Information Systems to replace copiers in the District:

·         Tax Exonerations.

·         Student Code of Conduct.

·         Northampton Science and Engineering Club to organize and meet under the direction of Mr. Cornelius  McHugh and Mr. William Wilde and at no expense to the District.

·         Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School student number 2011-15.

·      Expulsion Hearing Waiver for Middle School student number 2011-18.
