At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

 

·        Resignation of Natalie Kroope, Social Studies Teacher at the High School, effective August 24, 2012.

·        Jeanna Schooler a paid childbearing leave beginning on or about November 21, 2012, through January 8, 2013, and FMLA childrearing leave, with no pay, but with benefits, per Federal Government regulations, for the period beginning on January 9, 2013, through February 15, 2013.

·        Resignation, for the purpose of retirement, for Rhonda Gilly as Special Education Instructional Assistant, effective August 24, 2012.

·        Resignation for the purpose of Disability Retirement, for Thomas Laputka, effective August 9, 2012, with waiver for the obligation to return to service upon conclusion of his medical sabbatical leave.

·        FMLA leave of absence, with pay and benefits from sick leave, for Lynne Olsen, for September 4, 2012, and September 5, 2012 – AM, and an FMLA leave with no pay, but with benefits, per Federal Government regulations, from September 5, 2012 – PM, through November 7, 2012.

·        Resignation for purpose of retirement of Melinda Roediger as Special Education Instructional Assistant, effective August 17, 2012.

·        Transfer of Cindy Canterbury to 12-month Special Education Secretary, effective August 13, 2012.

·        Candy Rosenbauer, LTS Reading Teacher at the Middle School, effective August 27, 2012, through the end of the first semester of the 2012-2013 school year.  Her pro-rated salary will be $24,867.22, based on a Master’s Degree and Step 1, without benefits.

·        Revised Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches with their designated payments, for the 2012-2013 school year, effective July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013, for the appropriate sport season.

·        James Sansone, High School Band Director, approximately 60 students, and a female District employee to attend/participate in a competition at Dominican University in Chicago, IL, from March 21, 2013, through March 24, 2013.  Total cost to the District will be $400.00.  The cost is included in the 2012-13 Board approved curriculum budget.

·        Amanda Roberts, Kindergarten Teacher Short Term Substitute at Franklin Elementary School, effective August 27, 2012, through November 21, 2012, at the per diem rate of $125.00, without benefits.

·        Lindsey Santanasto, English Teacher Long Term Substitute at the High School, effective August 27, 2012, for the 2012-2013 school year.  Her salary will be $45,675.22, (Bachelor’s Degree, Step 1), with benefits.

·        Mary Kintz, One-to-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at Siegfried Elementary, effective August 27, 2012.  Her rate of pay will be $10.63 per hour, totaling $28,695.00 annually, with benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA.

·        Stipends for Athletic Events for the 2012-13 school year, effective July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013.  This is a zero (0%) percent increase from the 2011-12 school year.

·        Aaron Knepp, One-to-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at Moore Elementary, effective August 27, 2012.  His rate of pay will be $10.63 per hour, totaling $28,695.00, with benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA.

·        Katie Malehorn, One-to-One Special Education Instructional Assistant at George Wolf Elementary, effective August 27, 2012.  Her rate of pay will be $10.63 per hour, with benefits, totaling $28,695.00, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA.

·        One (1) Special Education Instructional Assistant at the Middle School:  Jolene Zito (pending Child Abuse clearance), effective August 27, 2012.  The rate of pay will be $10.63 per hour, with benefits, totaling $28,695.00, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA.

·        Rachel Dotter, Art Teacher Long Term Substitute at George Wolf and the Middle School, effective August 27, 2012, for the 2012-2013 school year.  Her salary will be $45,675.21, based on a Bachelor’s degree and Step 1, with benefits.

·        Extra-Curricular & Supplemental Positions for the 2012-2013 school year, effective July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013.

·        Change of classification and transfer of Barbara Watkins to Special Education Instructional Assistant at Moore Elementary School, effective August 27, 2012.  Her rate of pay will be $13.29 per hour, with benefits, totaling $32,504.00, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA.

·        Christopher Erdo, Science Teacher Long Term Substitute at the Middle School, effective August 27, 2012, for the 2012-2013 school year.  His salary will be $48,942.84, based on a Master’s degree and Step 1, with benefits.

·        Seth Lisa, LTS Social Studies Teacher at the High School, effective August 27, 2012, for the 2012-2013 school year.  His salary will be $48,942.84, based on a Master’s degree and Step 1, with benefits.

·        Short Term (72 Day) Elementary Reading Substitute Teachers for the 2012-2013 school year.  The daily substitute rate will be $125.00 per day, no benefits.

·        Change in classification and transfer of Laura Boyko to Library Instructional Assistant at the Middle School, effective August 27, 2012.  Her rate of pay will be $13.29 per hour, with benefits, totaling $2,504.00, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA.

·        Athletic Event Staff for the 2012-2013 school year, effective July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013.

·        Megan Rehrig, Grade 6 Reading Teacher – Short Term Substitute at Moore Elementary, effective August 27, 2012, through November 6, 2012, at the per diem rate of $125.00, without benefits.

·        Employment Agreement between the Northampton Area School District and J. William Hume as In School Suspension Supervisor at a total salary for the 2012-2013 school year of $78,631.44 with benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and NAEA.

·        Mrs. Maureen Sproul, Acting Principal of the Northampton Area High School, effective August 27, 2012, until a permanent Principal is hired.  Approve a stipend of $1,000 per month, effective September 1, 2012, until a permanent Principal is hired.

·        Revised curricula in Honors Physical Science, Elementary Reading and Writing Grades K and 2, Elementary Reading Grade 1, Elementary Mathematics Grades 1 and 2, and K Readiness Skills.

·        D’Huy Engineering for project design, bid preparation/evaluation and engineering services for the replacement of the Administration Building windows as per the “Engineer of Record Agreement” approved by the Board on May 18, 2009, along with the amendment which was approved on June 8, 2009.

·        A three (3) year service agreement with SimplexGrinnell for service to the fire alarm, intercom, master clock, and rescue assistance systems at Franklin Elementary, Siegfried Elementary, the Washington Building, George Wolf Elementary, Moore Elementary, Lehigh Elementary, and the Middle School at the following costs:

·        Dispose of obsolete equipment and components by sale to Sycamore International, Inc., for $4,643.00.

·        The following sixty-month leases with Fraser Advanced Information Systems to replace copiers in the District:

·        Authorize the School Board President and Secretary to sign the Sports Medicine Services Agreement between St. Luke’s Physician Group, Inc., and Northampton Area School District effective as of the date set forth on the Agreement.

·        Authorize the School Board President and Secretary to sign the Agreement and Rental Form between East Allen Township and Northampton Area School District effective as of the date set forth on the Agreement.
