At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

·        Resignation of David Faust as Head Girls’ Volleyball Coach, effective November 5, 2012.

·        Alison Kowalick, a paid Childbearing Leave beginning on or about March 4, 2013, through April 4, 2013 – AM, and an FMLA Childrearing Leave, with no pay, but with benefits, per Federal Government regulations, for the period beginning on April 4, 2013 – PM, through the end of the 2012-13 school year.

·        Leave of Absence with pay from sick leave, for Susan Toolan, beginning January 23, 2013, to April 26, 2013.

·        Stephanie Heffelfinger, a paid Childbearing Leave beginning on or about March 8, 2013, through April 19, 2013, and an FMLA Childrearing Leave, with no pay, but with benefits, per Federal Government regulations, for the period beginning on April 22, 2013, through the end of the 2012-13 school year.

·        Resignation of Katherine Carney as Student Council Advisor at the Middle School, effective January 7, 2013.

·        Resignation of Ronald Smith, English Teacher, for the purpose of retirement, effective June 11, 2013, or the last teacher day of the 2012-2013 school year.

·        Resignation of Adelaide Heist, Technology Teacher, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective June 11, 2013, or the last teacher day of the 2012-2013 school year.

·        Resignation of Emily Moon, Reading Specialist, for the purpose of retirement, effective June 11, 2013, or the last teacher day of the 2012-2013 school year.

·        The following additions to the District Volunteer Master Listing for the 2012-2013 school year:

·        Additions and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2012-2013 school year.

·        Resignation of Daniel Fassl as Assistant Baseball Coach, effective January 7, 2013.

·        Resignation of Estelle Gimbar, Fourth Grade Elementary Teacher, for the purpose of super-annuated retirement, effective June 11, 2013, or the last teacher day of the 2012-2013 school year.

·        Revised 1/8/2013 mentor list including the one new mentor and payment for the 2012-2013 school year.

·        Mr. Ryan Mertz to accompany High School student, Allison Monroe, to the PMEA District 10 Orchestra Festival at Daniel Boone School District on January 9 through January 12, 2013.  The approximate cost to the District is $80.00.  The cost to the District is included in the Board approved 2012-2013 budget.

·        Melinda McCann, District Gifted Instructional Assistant, effective retroactive to January 2, 2013.  Her rate of pay will be $10.63 per hour, with benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA.

·        The following extra-curricular staff members and pro-rated stipends for the 2012-2013 school year:

·        Candy Rosenbauer, LTS English Teacher at the Middle School, effective January 29, 2013, through the end of the 2012-2013 school year.  Her salary will be $261.69 per day, based on a Master’s Degree and Step 1, without benefits.

·        Ms. Anita Mateyak, Mr. Jason Winchenbach, and six (6) to eight (8) FBLA students to attend/compete in the FBLA State Competition and Leadership Conference in Hershey, PA, on April 14, 15, 16, and 17, 2013.  Total cost to the District will not exceed $2,468.00.  All costs to the District are included in the Board approved 2012-2013 curriculum budget.

·        Mrs. Tara Mrazik, Ms. Tara Mushko, Mrs. Ann Harrington, Mrs. Neali Feimster, Mr. Matt Greenplate, Mrs. Theresa Barrall, and Mr. Ryan Brobst to attend the PA DECA State Conference along with one hundred and five (105) DECA students on February 27, 28, and March 1, 2013, in Hershey, PA.  Maximum cost to the District will be $12,237.00.  All costs to the District are included in the Board approved 2012-2013 curriculum budget.

·        Adoption of the following policies, effective January 15, 2013:  105.1 – Curriculum Review by Parents/Guardians and Students; 105.2 – Exemption from Instruction; 110 – Instructional/Non-Instructional Supplies; 119 – Current Events; 143 – Standards for Persistently Dangerous Schools; 144 – Standards for Victims of Violent Crimes; 216 – Student Records, Attachments A & B; 339 – Administrative Employees-Uncompensated Absences; 439 – Professional Employees-Uncompensated Absences; 539 – Noncertificated Employees-Uncompensated Absences; 618 – Student Activity Funds; and 826 – Record Retention.

·        High School Program of Studies for the 2013-2014 school year.

·        Accept approval from PDE for PlanCon Part K:  Project Refinancing for the 2012 Refunding Issue, which refunded the 2008 Series Bond.

·        Adopt the Resolution for the purpose of ratifying, confirming and approving all actions and documents required and necessary to achieve all approvals for the Middle School Project and to complete the construction of Middle School Project subject to further more specific approvals required by the School Code and other applicable laws and regulations.

·        Commission for Elected Tax Collectors at a rate of $1.25 per bill collected, $0.30 per bill stuffed and $1.25 per installment payment collected for the four (4) year period 2014-2018.  This is a 0% increase from the last four (4) year period.

·        Administration signing the Letter of Intent Accepting Act 319 Program for the 329 property located in East Allen Township (L5-1-12 0508).

·        2012-2013 Budget Transfers.

·        Bills for Payment.

·        Accept the donation of seven (7) file cabinets from GF Pension Group of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

·        The 2013-2014 NASD School Calendar and faculty meeting dates.
