At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

·       Resignation of Dale Nester as Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach, effective March 1, 2013.

·       Resignation of Lauren Schneck as Technology Assistant, effective at the end of the day on March 21, 2013.

·       Two hall monitor positions to be stationed at Franklin and Siegfried Elementary Schools with salaries and benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA.

·       Additions and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2012-2013 school year.

·       The following additions to the District Volunteer Master Listing for the 2012-2013 school year:

·       Resignation of James Karabasz as Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach, effective March 7, 2013.

·       Revised 3/5/13 mentor list including the one new mentor and payment for the 2012-2013 school year.

·       Updated roster of instructors and stipends for the Community Education Program for the 2012-13 school year.

·       Memorandum of Agreement between the Northampton Area School District and the Northampton Area Custodial/Teamsters Local Union #773.

·       Memorandum of Agreement between the Northampton Area School District and the Northampton Area Maintenance/Teamsters Local Union #773.

·       Memorandum of Agreement between the Northampton Area School District and the Northampton Area Educational Support Personnel Association (NAESPA).

·       Memorandum of Agreement between the Northampton Area School District and the Northampton Area Confidential Employees.

·       Lisa Gross, Hall Monitor at Franklin Elementary, effective March 12, 2013.  Her rate of pay will be $10.63 per hour, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA.

·       The following support staff transfers with no change in hourly rate, effective March 12, 2013, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and ESPA:

·       Attendance of Mrs. Tara Mrazik, three additional chaperones (Ms. Tara Mushko, Mrs. Neali Feimster, and Mr. Ryan Brobst) and 27 members of the Northampton Area High School DECA to the DECA ICDC (International Career Development Conference) competition in Anaheim, CA, on April 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29, 2013.  Total cost of the trip to the District is $1,200.00, which is part of the 2012-2013 Board approved curriculum budget.

·       Act 93 Administrative Compensation Plan effective July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2016, which includes a 2% average salary increase for all Act 93 personnel.

·       PlanCon Part “F” – Attachment C and PlanCon Part “G” and give approval to submit PlanCon Part “F” – Attachment C and PlanCon Part “G” to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for approval.

·       General Construction contract for Penn Builders for the amount of $42,053,500.00 that includes the base bid and recommended alternates.

·       Mechanical Construction contract for Guy M. Cooper, Inc., for the amount of $7,855,000.00 that includes the base bid and recommended alternates.

·       Plumbing Construction contract for Jay R. Reynolds for the amount of $3,416,700.00 that includes the base bid and recommended alternates.

·       Electrical Construction contract for Wind Gap Electric for the amount of $7,499,862.00 that includes the base bid and recommended alternates.

·       HVAC Testing, Adjusting and Balancing contract for H.T. Lyons for the amount of $133,960.00 that includes the base bid and recommended alternates.

·       Construction Waste Management contract for Chrin Recycling Management for an amount not to exceed $160,000.00.

·       Construction Testing contract for Advantage Engineers for an amount not to exceed $225,000.00.

·       Abatement contract for Sargent Enterprises for the amount of $228,400.00 that includes the base bid and recommended alternates.

·       2013-2014 Colonial IU 20 General Operating Budget in the amount of $3,017,300 with the NASD portion of $37,886.88 required to fund the budget.

·       2012-2013 Budget Transfers.

·       Bills for Payment.

·       Draft Policy #221, Dress and Grooming, is remanded for the 2013-14 school year and is being sent back to the Policy Committee for re-review and creation with all stakeholders involved.

·       Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School student number 2012-17.

·       Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School student number 2012-15.
