Regular board meeting

At the regular meeting of the Board of
Education, the Board approved the following:
- Anne Bauder, an unpaid
FMLA childrearing leave, with benefits, per Federal Government regulations,
for the period beginning May 23, 2014, through June 10, 2014.
- The revised listing of
Student Summer Help, along with their compensation rate of $7.25 per hour
effective for the summer of 2014. The listing denotes those students who are
pending receipt of acceptable clearances.
- Attendance of Mr.
Dimmick, Mrs. Grammes, Dr. Kuhns, and Ms. Welsh at the Pennsylvania Positive
Behavior Support Implementers’ Forum, scheduled to be held May 28 and May 29,
2014, in Hershey, PA, at an approximate cost of $1,442.28. The amount is
included in the 2013-2014 Board approved curriculum budget.
- The following
extra-curricular staff members and stipends for the 2013-2014 school year:
Krista Maxwell - Environmental Club Co-Advisor – Moore (8/26/13 to
2/26/14 – on leave beginning 2/27/14) - $254.52
Karen Grube - Environmental Club Co-Advisor – Moore (2013-2014 SY) -
- Mrs. Mateyak and six (6)
students to travel to New York, NY, on May 12, 2014. Transportation will be
paid by the students. Total cost to the District will not exceed $100.00. All
costs to the District are included in the Board approved 2013-2014 curriculum
- Bernadette Rabel, PE
Biology Teacher at the High School, effective August 18, 2014. Her salary
will be $55,563.00, with benefits, based on a Master’s degree and Step 8, per
the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and NAEA.
- The voluntary transfer
of Richard Smith from Middle Shift Custodian to Day Shift Working Head
Custodian at Lehigh Elementary, effective August 22, 2014.
- April Halleman, Floating
Custodian, effective May 19, 2014. Her
rate of pay will be $16.54 per hour, 80% of the current hourly rate, with
benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD
and Teamsters Local 773.
- Collective Bargaining
Agreement with the Northampton Area Maintenance Association for the term of
July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2018.
- Collective Bargaining
Agreement with the Northampton Area Custodial Association for the term of July
1, 2014, through June 30, 2018.
of the following policies, effective May 6, 2014: 903 - Public Participation
in Board Meetings, 907 - School Visitors, 917 - Parent/Family Involvement, and
918 - Title I Parental Involvement.
Adopt the 2014-15 Proposed General Fund/Athletic Fund/& Food
Services Budget with the total revenues and expenditures listed below and
authorize administration to advertise and make the Proposed Budget available for
inspection to the public:
