At the regular meeting of the Board of
Education, the Board approved the following:
- Christine Fischer, an
unpaid Childbearing/Childrearing Leave beginning August 18, 2014, through
January 15, 2015, without benefits.
- Resignation of Christine
Fischer as grade 8 Team Coordinator, effective at the end of the 2013-2014
- Tammy Vajda, an unpaid
FMLA leave, with benefits, per Federal government regulations, for the period
beginning May 15, 2014, through May 27, 2014.
- Resignation of Jaclyn
Welsh as Assistant Principal effective June 30, 2014.
- Kellie Ryan, an unpaid
FMLA leave, with benefits, per Federal Government regulations, for the period
beginning May 27, 2014, through May 30, 2014.
- The following Support
Staff transfer effective with the 2014-2015 school year:
LeeAnn Hildebrand – Special Ed IA – High
School to Special Ed IA – Moore
and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2013-2014 school year.
- The revised list of
teachers and 1:1 Instructional Assistants to provide Extended School Year
(ESY) and Chapter 15/Section 504 Services for the summer 2014.
- Two (2) Memorandums of
Understanding between the Northampton Area School District and the Northampton
Area Educator Association for early morning classes at the High School.
- Lindsey Santanasto, TPE
English Teacher at the High School, effective August 18, 2014. Her salary
will be $47,272.00, with benefits, based on a Bachelor’s degree and Step 3,
per the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and NAEA.
- Contract for Mr. Wilfred
Williams as the Northampton Area School District Chief of School Police for
the school years 2014-2015 through 2016-2017. His salary will be $51,855.66
during the 2014-2015 school year.
- Nicolette Teles, K-12
Reading and Writing Supervisor, effective July 1, 2014, with two days of
shadowing in June at per diem rate of $288.46; exact dates to be determined.
Salary will be $75,000.00, with benefits, and in accordance with the Act 93
- Ms. Andrea Harvey with
children Imani, Hakeem, and Aminah, and Mr. and Mrs. Acexel Lopez with
children Nathan and Natalie, to attend the PDE Title I State Parent Conference
at Seven Springs, PA, on June 30 – July 2, 2014 at a cost not to exceed
$2,353.00. The cost of the conference will be covered through the Title I
Parent Involvement funds which have been budgeted specifically for this
purpose. There is no cost to the District for this conference.
- Adoption of the
following policy, effective June 10, 2014: 204 – Attendance.
2014-15 Final General Fund/Athletic Fund/& Food Services Budget with total
revenues and expenditures listed below:
General Fund $91,592,153.00
Athletic Fund $ 173,569.00
Food Services Fund $ 2,381,657.00
The General Fund budget is supported by an increase of 1.18 mills
and the following tax levy:
