At the regular meeting of the Board of
Education, the Board approved the following:
- Transfers of
professional staff for the 2015-2016 school year.
- Posting for the
positions of current teachers for Extended School Year (ESY) and Chapter
15/Section 504 Services for the summer 2015, with the number of teachers
actually needed to be determined.
- Continuation of a
medical sabbatical for Leanne Gaughran, for the remainder of the 2014-2015
- Katie Evans, a paid FMLA
leave of absence beginning March 2, 2015, through March 9, 2015 – AM, and an
unpaid FMLA leave, with benefits, beginning March 9, 2015 – PM, through April
12, 2015, as per Federal Government regulations.
- Updated job description
for the following professional teaching position: Special Education Life
Skills Teacher, effective March 23, 2015.
- Additions and deletions
to the Substitute Listing for the 2014-2015 school year.
- The following additions
to the District Volunteer Master Listing for the 2014-2015 school year:

Resignation of Amanda Kirchoff as Dance Team Advisor/Coach, effective March 19,
following additions to the District Volunteer Master Listing for the 2014-2015

- Mrs. Lauren Ezzell, Mrs.
Theresa Wenck, and Mr. Kevin Ezzell to accompany 27 High School students to
Quebec on June 18-21, 2015. There will be no cost to the District.
- Loriann Barbera, Hall
Monitor at the High School, effective
March 30, 2015. Her salary will be $11.02 per hour, 80% of the position rate,
without benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
between NASD and ESPA
- Lindsay Fetterhoff, STS
Grade 2 Teacher at Moore Elementary, effective retroactive to March 9, 2015,
through the remainder of the 2014-2015 school year.
Her salary will be $125.00, per diem, without

Pretopapa, Long Term Substitute English Teacher at the High School, through
the end of the 2014-2015 school year, without benefits.
- Mrs. Tara Mrazik, Mrs.
Maryanne Miller, Mrs. Neali Feimster, and Mr. Ryan Brobst to attend the DECA
International Career Development
Conference along with thirty-two (32) DECA students on April 24 through 29,
2015, in Orlando, Florida. Maximum cost to the District will be $1,200.00.
All costs are included in the Board approved curriculum budget.
- Charles Wert, Skilled
Maintenance employee, effective April 13, 2015,
pending receipt of acceptable clearances. His base rate of pay will be $24.47
per hour, 95% of the current hourly rate, with benefits, in accordance with
the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and Teamsters Local 773.
of Zachary Winter, Long Term Substitute Grade 6 Teacher at Moore Elementary,
through the end of the 2014-2015 school year, without benefits.
- Emily Clark as a
Vietnamese Interpreter for the PSSA Math Assessments at a cost of $40.00 an
hour for a maximum of 50 hours.
- Extension of unpaid
childrearing leave for Cassandra Herr, Grade 2 Teacher at Moore Elementary,
through April 30, 2015, with benefits through April 13, 2015, as per Federal
Camp Invention Summer Enrichment
Program which will be held from June 22 through June 25, 2015, at the Siegfried
Elementary School. Student cost for the four day summer STEM activities program
is $130.00. This reduced price has been made possible by a contribution from
the Northampton Konkrete Kids Educational Foundation. There is no cost to the
District for this program.
- Adopt the 2015-2016
Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School General Fund Budget in the amount
of $11,180,297 with the Northampton Area School District portion of $2,114,679
required to fund the budget.
- Adopt the 2015-2016
Colonial IU 20 General Operating Budget in the amount of $3,222,190 with the
Northampton Area School District portion of $40,098.87 required to fund the
- Disposal of obsolete
equipment and components by sale to Motor City Computer for the amount of
$2,140.50 to be returned to the District.
- Tax Exonerations.
- Bills for Payment.
- Accept, with
appreciation, a donation of 272 elementary level books to Northampton Area
School District from the Logistics & Material Handling program at LCTI and
- Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School
student number 2014-09.
