At the regular meeting of the Board of
Education, the Board approved the following:
Resignation of Roger Klotz as Assistant Cross
Country Coach, effective October 29, 2015.
Additions and deletions to the Substitute
Listing for the 2015-2016 school year.
Revised Master District Volunteer List for the
2015-2016 school year.
job descriptions for the following positions: Director of Curriculum and
Instruction, Math/Science Supervisor K-12, Reading/Writing Supervisor K-12,
Secretary for Curriculum and Instruction, and
Curriculum Online Technology, Data Entry, and
Retrieval Secretary effective November
Kelly Rusnock, Security Officer, effective
retroactive to October 28, 2015. Her salary will be $18.85 per hour, no
benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD
Voluntary transfer of Jeffrey Mertz from
Floating/High School Custodian to Middle Shift Custodian at the High School,
effective on or about January 2, 2016.
Jacqueline DiMartino, LTS Special Education
Teacher at the High School, effective retroactive to October 12, 2015, through
the end of the 2015-16 school year. Her salary will be $244.95, per diem,
without benefits, based on a Bachelorís degree and Step 1, per the Collective
Bargaining Agreement between NASD and NAEA.
The cost of $28,051.03 for a 1:1 Associate
Teacher to support a Northampton student who attends the IU 20 Life Skills
Support classroom located at Avona Elementary School. The cost of this
position will be covered by Access funds.
Janet Colburn, LTS Special Education Teacher
at Siegfried Elementary School, effective retroactive to October 29, 2015,
through the end of the 2015-16 school year. Her salary will be $261.69, per
diem, without benefits, based on a Masterís degree and Step 1, per the
Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and NAEA.
Adoption of the following policies, effective
November 10, 2015: 123 - Interscholastic Athletics, 123.1 - Experience Credit
for Coaching Assignments, 204 Ė Attendance, 707 - Use of School Buildings,
Facilities, and Equipment, 709.1 - Building Security Cameras, 710 - Use of
District Facilities and Equipment by Staff, 715 - Use of Fax Machines, 808 -
Food Services, and 808.1 - Free and Reduced Price Lunches.
The amount of $144,450 for the purchase of 450
Chromebook computers, software, and protective cases. Authorize DíHuy
Engineering, Inc., to prepare a Capital Maintenance Plan at a cost of $12,000.
Lori Biechy Auctions, LLC, Nazareth,
Pennsylvania, to conduct a public auction for the sale of contents of the old
Middle School at a cost of ten (10%) percent commission plus expenses,
advertising costs, and labor at $15.00 per hour.
The settlement of the tax assessment appeal
filed by Sacred Heart Assisted Living Partnership for the tax years 2010-2011,
2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 for Tax Parcel No.
L4SW2D-4-2 located at 602 East 21st Street, Borough of Northampton,
Northampton County, Pennsylvania, pursuant to the Stipulation of Counsel and
authorize the Districtís Solicitor to execute the Stipulation of Counsel on
behalf of the School District. The Stipulation is effective for School
District taxes on and after July 1, for each year included on the
Stipulation. Upon receipt of a copy of the fully executed Stipulation and
Court Order and a notice of change of assessment from the County Assessment
Office, the Administration is authorized to refund to Sacred Heart Assisted
Living Partnership for any overpayments of taxes for the applicable years of

The Physical Education Club to organize and
meet under the direction of Mr. Fehnel, Ms. Stopay, Mr. Sugra, and Ms.
Valimont, and at no expense to the District. The administration also
recommends the Board approve a student activity account for the Physical
