At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:
∑ Resignation of Nicole Duncan, Elementary Teacher, effective at the end of the 2016-2017 school year.
∑ Michael Moser an unpaid FMLA leave of absence, for medical reasons, beginning May 3, 2017, through May 12, 2017, with insurance, as per Federal Government regulations.
∑ Catherine DiOdoardo, an extension to her unpaid FMLA childrearing leave of absence, beginning August 21, 2017, through September 28, 2017, with insurance, as per Federal Government regulations, and an unpaid childrearing leave of absence beginning September 29, 2017, through the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year, no insurance.
∑ Bethany Valimont, a paid childbearing leave of absence, beginning August 21, 2017, through September 27, 2017, and an unpaid FMLA childrearing leave, beginning September 28, 2017, through September 29, 2017, no insurance.
∑ Resignation of Robin Miller, Reading Specialist, for the purpose of retirement, effective October 3, 2017.
∑ Resignation of Andrew Snyder as Assistant Boys Soccer Coach, effective June 30, 2017.
∑ Professional and Support Staff transfers effective with the 2017-2018 school year.
∑ Revised Master District Volunteer List for the 2016-17 school year.
∑ Additions and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2016-2017 school year.
∑ Revised listing of Student Summer Help, along with their compensation rate of $7.25 per hour effective for the summer of 2017.
∑ Revised list of teachers and 1:1 Instructional Assistants to provide Extended School Year (ESY) and Chapter 15/Section 504 Services for the summer 2017.
∑ Contract for Mr. Wilfred Williams as the Northampton Area School District Chief of School Police for the school years 2017-2018 through 2019-2020. His salary will be $55,896.50 during the 2017-2018 school year.
∑ Voluntary transfer of Daniel Pritko from 3rd Shift Custodian at the High School to Middle Shift Custodian at the High School, effective July 5, 2017, with no change in base salary, in accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
∑ The following athletic coaching staff members and stipends for the 2017-2018 school year:
Amie Marks - Assistant Girls Volleyball Coach - $2,249.00 (75%)
Patrick Morgan - Assistant Girls Volleyball Coach - $2,249.00 (75%)
William Marks - Assistant Football Coach - $4,338.00 (55%)
∑ Revised Community Education Spring 2017 Roster of Instructors and stipends for the 2016-2017 school year.
∑ Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Northampton Area Security Association, as presented, for the term of July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2020.
∑ Shelley Ladd, Temporary Secretary in the Tax office, effective June 26, 2017, through on or about September 8, 2017. Her rate of pay will be $10.80 per hour, no benefits.
∑ Extra-Curricular and Supplemental Positions for the 2017-2018 school year.
∑ Department and District Coordinators and Middle School Subject Leadersí compensations effective for the 2017-2018 school year.
∑ Emily Marley, Long Term Substitute Mathematics Teacher at the Middle School, effective August 21, 2017, for the first semester of the 2017-2018 school year. Her salary will be $50,340.00, based on a Bachelorís +15 degree and Step 1, pro-rated, without benefits.
∑ Amie Marks, Long Term Substitute Science Teacher at the Middle School, effective August 21, 2017, for the 2017-2018 school year. Her salary will be $50,340.00, based on a Bachelorís +15 degree and Step 1, with benefits.
∑ Matthew Frailey, Assistant to the Athletic Director, effective for the fall, winter and spring seasons of the 2017-2018 school year, with a stipend of $3,000.00, per sports season, no additional benefits.
∑ Michelle Pasquariello, Temporary Custodian, effective retroactive to June 12, 2017, through August 18, 2017. Her rate of pay will be $12.13 per hour, no benefits.
∑ Ronald Matika, Temporary Custodian, effective retroactive to June 12, 2017, through August 18, 2017. His rate of pay will be $12.13 per hour, no benefits.
∑ Adoption of the following revised and/or reviewed policies, effective June 13, 2017: 203 - Immunizations and Communicable Diseases, 354 - Pre-Employment Drug Testing, 454 - Pre-Employment Drug Testing, 554 - Pre-Employment Drug Testing, and 808 Food Services.
∑ A three (3) year service agreement to Garaventa Lift of Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania, from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020 to inspect, clean, lubricate and adjust the wheelchair lift(s) at Colonel John Siegfried Elementary School, George Wolf Elementary School, Moore Elementary School, and Lehigh Elementary School at the following annual costs:
$600.00 at Colonel John Siegfried Elementary School (1 lift)
$600.00 at George Wolf Elementary School (1 lift)
$600.00 at Moore Elementary School (1 lift)
+ $1800.00 at Lehigh Elementary School (3 lifts)
$3,600.00 total annual cost
∑ Alternate billing agreement for the Northampton Community College for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
∑ Adopt the 2017-18 Final General Fund/Athletic Fund/ & Food Services Budget with total revenues and expenditures listed below:

Food Services Fund $ 2,413,955.00
The General Fund budget is supported by an increase of 2.99% that equates to 1.53 mills and the
following tax levy:

∑ Reappoint Northampton Area School District Business Office, as the 2017-18 Northampton Area School District tax collector for Bath Borough, Chapman Borough, Allen Township, Moore Township, East Allen Township, Northampton Borough, and Lehigh Township.
∑ The following depositories for school funds for the 2017-18 fiscal year:
Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust (PLGIT)
Pennsylvania School District Liquid Asset Fund (PSDLAF)
∑ 2016-2017 Budget Transfers.
∑ Tax Exonerations/Changes.
∑ Bills for Payment.
∑ Contract for Ms. Erin Dolan, pending paperwork from PDE, for one Approved Private School (APS) teacher who will be providing Extended School Year (ESY) services for one Northampton Area School District student attending the (APS) during the summer of 2017 at a cost not to exceed $1805.40.
∑ Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit Non-Member SD & Charter Schools Special Education Services Agreement.
∑ Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School student number 2016-17.
∑ Attendance of Joseph Kovalchik at the Lehigh University School Study Council 2017 Study Tour to Peabody College of Education at Vanderbilt University from September 26, 2017, through September 29, 2017, at an approximate cost of $1,075.
∑ Expulsion Hearing Waiver for High School student number 2016-19.
∑ 2017 Homestead and Farmstead real estate tax reduction amount at $112.56 with a 2017 Homestead and Farmstead real estate assessed value reduction at $2,133.00.
