At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

·     Half-year sabbatical for Carolyn Albright, for the purpose of professional development, for the second semester of the 2018-2019 school year.

·     Professional status and tenure for the following teachers who have completed three years of teaching and have received six satisfactory evaluations:

·     Kathleen Schatz, a paid childbearing leave of absence, beginning on or about April 30, 2018, through May 3, 2018, and an unpaid FMLA childrearing leave, beginning May 4, 2018, through the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year, with insurance, as per Federal Government regulations.

·     Scott Oste, a paid childrearing leave of absence, beginning on or about May 31, 2018, through June 1, 2018, and an unpaid FMLA childrearing leave, beginning June 4, 2018, through the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year, with insurance, as per Federal Government regulations.

·     Resignation of Carly Hein as Assistant Cross Country Coach, effective January 26, 2018.

·     Resignation of Debra Butto as Virtual Guild Club Advisor, effective January 25, 2018.

·     Resignation of Judy Snyder, Elementary Teacher, for the purpose of  retirement, effective January 9, 2018.

·     Resignation of Linda Deurer, Family Consumer Science Teacher, for the purpose of superannuated retirement, effective June 7, 2018, or the last teacher day of the 2017-2018 school year.

·     Resignation of Pamela Longacre, Elementary Teacher, for the purpose of retirement, effective June 7, 2018, or the last teacher day of the 2017-2018 school year.

·     Mary Donnelly, Business Education Teacher, for the purpose of superannuated retirement, effective June 7, 2018, or the last teacher day of the 2017-2018 school year.

·     Resignation of Cynthia Walsh, Special Education Teacher, for the purpose of superannuated retirement, effective end of the day on December 4, 2018.

·     Resignation of Sindee Funk, Instructional Assistant, for the purpose of superannuated retirement, effective June 6, 2018, or the last student day of the 2017-2018 school year.

·     Revised job descriptions for the following positions:  Head Secretary – Special Education, 12-Month Secretary – Special Education, and 10-Month Secretary – Special Education, effective February 12, 2018.

·     Resignation of Andrew Czekner as Equipment Manager, effective February 22, 2018.

·     Additions and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2017-2018 school year.

·     Revised Master District Volunteer List for the 2017-2018 school year.

·     Revised Mentor/Inductee List for the 2017-2018 School Year including the mentors and stipend payment for the 2017-2018 school year.

·     Coletta Bodnar, Long Term Substitute Special Education Instructional Assistant at the Middle School, effective retroactive to January 30, 2018, for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year, with no change in salary.

·     Tanya Dias, Long Term Substitute Special Education Instructional Assistant at the High School, effective retroactive to January 26, 2018, for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year, with a salary of $10.53 per hour.

·     The following addition to the Athletic Event Staff for the 2017-2018 school year:

·     Ranim Sankari, Long Term Substitute Grade 4 Elementary Teacher at Siegfried Elementary School, for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year.  Her salary will be $49,540.00, based on a Bachelor’s degree and Step 1, retroactive to August 21, 2017.

·     Attendance of Mr. Shaun Murray at the 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Annual Conference in Hershey, PA, on March 20-23, 2018, at an approximate cost of $903.15.  The amount is included the 2017-2018 Board approved curriculum budget.

·     Northampton Area School District K-12 Comprehensive School Counseling Plan regarding College and Career Readiness.

·     Revised Curricula for Secondary in Business/Technology, English, Health/PE, Math, Music, Science, and Social Studies.

·     Tuition rates of $335.00 per two (2) hour course for resident students and $385.00   per two (2) hour course for non-resident students for the 2018 summer school program.  Tuition costs for courses less than or greater than two (2) hours will be pro-rated.

·     2017-2018 Budget Transfers.

·     Agreement with Lehigh University for the rental of Stabler Arena for the 2018 graduation ceremonies at a rate of $8,373.76 plus any actual expenses.

·     Bills for Payment.

·     Appoint the following Trustees for the Northampton Area Public Library Board for the period of January 10, 2018, to January 10, 2021.
