At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

·     Revised list of Professional and Support Staff transfers effective with the 2018-2019 school year.

·     Resignation of Chad Friend from the position of Science Teacher, effective July 2, 2018.

·     Additions and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2017-2018 school year.

·     Kathleen Schatz an unpaid FMLA childrearing leave beginning August 20, 2018, through September 19, 2018, with insurance, as per Federal Government regulations, and an unpaid childrearing leave of absence beginning September 20, 2018, through on or about March 26, 2019, without insurance.

·     Revised list of teachers, school nurses, and 1:1 Instructional Assistants to provide Extended School Year (ESY) and Chapter 15/Section 504 Services for the summer 2018.

·     Cathleen Corrow, Special Education Instructional Assistant at Franklin Elementary School, effective August 20, 2018.  Her salary will be $12.59 per hour, with benefits, in accordance with the ESPA Agreement.

·     April Ziegler, Short Term Substitute English Teacher at the Middle School, effective August 20, 2018, for the first marking period of the 2018-2019 school year.  Her salary will be $125.00 per diem.

·     The following additions to the Elementary Instrumental Stipends for the 2017-2018 school year:

                                    Michael Baer - Elementary Band – George Wolf - $884.00

                                    Lori Emery - Elementary Band – Lehigh - $884.00

                                    Kristy Young - Elementary Orchestra – Moore - $884.00

                        Susan Lischner - Elementary Orchestra – Siegfried - $884.00

·     Matthew Frailey, Assistant to the Athletic Director, effective for the fall, winter and spring seasons of the 2018-2019 school year, with a stipend of $3,100.00, per sports season, no additional benefits.

·     Carrie Saul, TPE Biology Teacher at the High School, effective August 20, 2018, pending receipt of proper documentation.  Her salary will be $60,159.00, with benefits, based on a Master’s degree, Step 7; benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Northampton Area School District and NAEA.

·     Kristin Olsen, Long Term Substitute Grade 2 Elementary Teacher at          Siegfried Elementary School, effective August 20, 2018, through on or about March 26, 2019.  Her salary will be $274.23 per diem, based on a Bachelor’s degree and Step 1.

·     Listing of head coaches and assistant coaches with their designated payments, effective July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019, for the appropriate sport season.  

·     Lindsay Wisser, TPE Special Education Teacher at the Middle School, effective August 20, 2018, pending receipt of proper documentation.  Her salary will be $54,703.00, with benefits, based on a Master’s degree, Step 1; benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Northampton Area School District and NAEA.

·     Edward Keichel, Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher at the High School, effective August 20, 2018, for the 2018-2019 school year.  His salary will be $54,703.00, based on a Master’s degree and Step 1, with benefits.

·     Douglas Sherman, Assistant Principal of the Borough Elementary Schools, on a date to be determined, upon release from present school district.  Salary will be $80,000, prorated with benefits, and in accordance with the Act 93 Agreement.

·     Jason Jones, TPE Science Teacher at the Middle School, effective August 20, 2018, pending receipt of proper documentation.  His salary will be $55,612.00, with benefits, based on a Master’s degree, Step 2; benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Northampton Area School District and NAEA.

·     PlanCon Part “J” for the “Project Accounting Based on Final Costs” and give approval to submit PlanCon Part “J” to the PA Department of Education for approval.

·     The following Public Official Bonds through Willis of Pennsylvania, Inc., with Fidelity & Deposit Company of Maryland as the carrier, as follows:  Assistant Board Secretary (Denise Vilkauskas), 1-year term, 7/1/18-6/30/19, $25,000 limit – $88.00; Board Treasurer (Matt Sawarynski), 1-year term, 7/1/18-6/30/19, $25,000 limit - $150.00      

·     The following Real Estate Tax Exonerations:

·       Accept, with appreciation, the donation of various office supplies from Bon Ton Stores, Inc., Distribution Center, for use throughout the District, at a total value of $1,000.00.

·       Lease Agreement between First Student, Inc., and the Northampton Area School District effective August 1, 2018, through July 31, 2019.
