At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:
∑ Employee 1767 an extension of an unpaid FMLA medical leave of absence beginning November 7, 2018, through on or about January 15, 2019, with insurance, as per Federal Government regulations.
∑ Employee #3194 an unpaid medical leave of absence beginning on or about December 11, 2018, through on or about December 14, 2018, no insurance, as per Federal Government regulations.
∑ Employee #3657 an unpaid medical leave of absence beginning on or about December 5, 2018, through on or about January 4, 2019, no insurance, as per Federal Government regulations.
∑ Employee #3304 an extension of unpaid FMLA childrearing leave of absence beginning on or about January 3, 2019 through on or about February 1, 2019, with insurance, as per Federal Government regulations.
∑ Revised Master District Volunteer List for the 2018-2019 school year.
∑ Additions and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2018-2019 school year.
∑ Extension of Amy Wiellerís employment as a Long Term Substitute Music Teacher at George Wolf Elementary School, effective retroactive to September 7, 2018, through on or about February 1, 2019. Her salary will be $274.23, per diem, no benefits.
∑ Addition to the athletic coaching staff members and stipends list for the 2018-2019 school year.
∑ Mr. James Sansone and one (1) student to attend the PMEA District 10 Band Festival at Catasauqua High School. The student will be attending January 23, through January 25, 2019. Mr. Sansone will be attending on January 23, 2019. The approximate cost to the District is $125.00. The costs are included in the District budget.
∑ Mr. Ryan Mertz and two (2) students to attend the PMEA District 10 Orchestra Festival at Boyertown Area High School, in Boyertown, PA. The students will be attending January 9 through January 11, 2019. Mr. Mertz will be attending on January 9 & 10, 2019. The approximate cost to the District is $477.36. The costs are included in the District budget.
∑ Extension of employment of LaRea Henninger in the position of LTS Library Instructional Assistant at the Middle School effective at the start of the second semester of the 2018-19 school year. Her salary will be in accordance with the ESPA Agreement.
∑ 2018-19 Community Education Program Roster of Instructors and Stipends and the list of anticipated classes for Spring 2019.
∑ Jessica Lopez, LTS Special Education Instructional Assistant at the Middle School, effective December 18, 2018 for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year. Her salary will be $10.53 per hour, with benefits.
∑ Marisa Graver, LTS Kindergarten Teacher at Lehigh Elementary School, effective on or about January 16, 2019, for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year, pending receipt of PA certification. Her salary will be $54,703.00, pro-rated, based on a Masterís degree and Step 1, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and NAEA.
∑ Adoption of the following revised policies and attachments, effective December 18, 2018: 209 - Health Exams, 610 - Purchases Subject to Bid/Quotation, and 626 - Federal Fiscal Compliance, Attachments 4 and 5 - Procurement.
∑ PlanCon Part D Ė Project Accounting Based on Estimates and give approval to submit PlanCon Part D to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for their approval. PlanCon Part E Ė Design Development and give approval to submit PlanCon Part E to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for their approval.
∑ Treasurerís Report.
∑ A five-year contract with PowerSchool, beginning July 1, 2019, to provide Unified Talent Absence Management at an initial cost of $7,500 and convert from TalentEd Onboard to Unified Talent Records at an additional cost of $9,000 with 3% annual increases for the subscription and a one-time implementation fee of $5,250 for implementation support and training.
∑ Bills for Payment.
∑ Appoint the following Trustees for the Northampton Area Public Library Board for the period of January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021:
Daniel Belletti - 928 Dogwood Road, Walnutport, PA
Jane Yagerhofer - 5890 Green Meadow Road, Bath, PA
∑ Accept, with appreciation, the donation of 23 White and Blue Lab Coats worth $1,000 from a Middle School parent, Ms. Meredyth Seibert, for the 6th grade Science Department.
∑ Behavioral support services for a special needs student at Moore Elementary School at a cost not to exceed $40,000.00 and paid for out of ACCESS funds.
∑ Revised master active First Student Drivers/Operators list for the 2018-19 school year.
