At the regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board approved the following:

       Resignation of Jennifer Gerhart from the position of Art Teacher, effective March 30, 2019.

       Resignation of Vicki Troxell, Grade 2 Teacher and George Wolf Drama Club Advisor, for the purpose of superannuated retirement, effective June 7, 2019, or the last teacher day of the 2018-2019 school year.

       Resignation of Michele Rossi, Special Education Teacher, for the purpose of retirement, effective June 7, 2019, or the last teacher day of the 2018-2019 school year.

       Resignation of Linda Hayes, Family Consumer Science Teacher and 7-12 Family Consumer Science Department Coordinator, for the purpose of superannuated retirement, effective June 7, 2019, or the last teacher day of the 2018-2019 school year.

       Resignation of Scott Holland, Grade 3 Teacher, for the purpose of retirement, effective June 7, 2019, or the last teacher day of the 2018-2019 school year.

       Resignation of Mary Ann Miller, Science Teacher and Ecology (P.E.A.C.E.) Club Advisor, for the purpose of superannuated retirement, effective June 7, 2019, or the last teacher day of the 2018-2019 school year.

       Resignation of J. William Hume, Health and Physical Education Teacher, for the purpose of superannuated retirement, effective June 7, 2019, or the last teacher day of the 2018-2019 school year.

       Revised Master District Volunteer List for the 2018-19 school year.

       Additions and deletions to the Substitute Listing for the 2018-19 school year.

       Mrs. Tara Mrazik, Mrs. Mary Ann Miller, Mrs. Neali Feimster, Mrs. Tara Walbert, Mrs. Jaclyn Grejda, Mr. Matthew Greenplate, Mr. Andrew Peartree, and Mr. Ryan Brobst to attend the PA DECA State Conference along with one hundred and fifteen (115) DECA students, on February 20, 21, and 22, 2019, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  Maximum cost to the District will be $10,394.50.  All costs to the District are included in the Board approved 2018-2019 high school and curriculum budgets.

       Mr. Ryan Mertz and two students to attend the PMEA Regional Orchestra Festival at Kutztown Area High School in Kutztown, PA.  The students will be attending February 20 through February 22, 2019.  Mr. Mertz will be attending on February 20 and February 22, 2019.  The approximate cost to the District is $351.76.  The costs are included in the District budget.

       Extension of Gina VanLuvaneeís employment as a Long Term Substitute Kindergarten Teacher at George Wolf Elementary School, effective through on or about April 30, 2019.

       Extra-curricular staff member and stipend for the 2018-2019 school year.

       Ryan Brazuk, Head Boys Soccer Coach, effective for the 2019-2020 school year, for a total compensation of $7,141.00 (90% of head coach stipend), pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, pending receipt of acceptable documentation.  Stipend may be adjusted upon settlement of the new NAEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

       Dawn Nickischer, Assistant Business Administrator, effective on or about June 1, 2019.  Salary will be $90,000, with benefits, pending receipt of acceptable documentation and in accordance with the Act 93 Agreement.

       Michelle Everhart, LTS Special Education Instructional Assistant at George Wolf Elementary School, effective February 12, 2019, for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year.  Her salary will be $10.53 per hour.

       Colleen Corcoran, Natatorium Aide at the Middle School, effective retroactive to February 11, 2019.  Her salary will be $15.74 per hour, 100% of the position rate, with benefits, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between NASD and NAESPA.

       Contract effective February 12, 2019, with K.L. Fulford Associates, Inc., of Emmaus, Pennsylvania, owned by Ken Fulford, a licensed water treatment operator, to monitor, treat, schedule and perform water tests as mandated by the Department of Environmental Protection to the domestic well water at Lehigh and Moore Elementary Schools with weekly visits at a cost of $1,000 per month for one (1) year and thereafter on a monthly basis until cancelled by either party with thirty (30) days advance notice, or until modified by written agreement by both parties.

       Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit Student Driver Education Program Agreement.

       Settlement of the real estate tax assessment appeal filed in the Court of Common Pleas of Northampton County at Docket No. C84-CV-2017-8950 by Denise R. Bonstein, Executrix of the Estate of Darlene Kern effective for fiscal years beginning July 1, 2018, and July 1, 2019, for Tax Parcel No. K4 22 1E 0501 located in Allen Township pursuant to the Stipulation of Counsel and further approve and authorize the Districtís Solicitorto execute the Stipulation of Counsel on behalf of the School District.  The Adminitration shall refund to Denise R. Bonstein, Executrix of the Estate of Darlene Kern any overpayment of school real estate taxes for the applicable year(s) of the settlement. 

       Memorandum of Understanding for Services between Valley Youth House and Northampton Area School District for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year to provide additional One-to-One Counseling (one additional day a week at the High School and Middle School, and an additional half day every week at George Wolf Elementary and Siegfried Elementary Schools) at a cost not to exceed $18,000 and paid for through the PDE Safe Schools Program Grant 2018-2019.  There is no cost to the District for these additional counseling services.

       2018-2019 Budget Transfers.

       Contract for services with NaviGate Prepared, at a cost of $6,000/year, beginning July 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2019, with the option to renew annually at the same cost.

       Bills for Payment.

       Contract for services with Kelly M. Deibert, Pennsylvania State Registered ASL/ENGLISH Interpreter, on an as needed basis from January 1, 2019, through December 31, 2019.
